Sarge's comfort in warm darkness ended when he felt warm and moist pressure on his lips and opened up his eyes to meet the glance of Sophie's green ones. Sophie's eyes threw lightnings when she said: "Get yourself up, Mike! I am not sure should I kiss you from relief again or slap you for deserting your post in battle. Maybe both, but I settle with kisses for now and we will see the need for slapping you when the battle is over. Come back with your shield - or on it, as Spartans said, and you WILL come back WITH your damned shield! Understood?! And now you have Sandy to look after I got you back! Just try to disappear again, and you will see the OTHER side of me!" And nurse Sophie kissed Sarge long and hard once more, before resuming her place in Volodja's mind as a hacker and the gate keeper.

Sandy Bell's EGO psyche, shook off the dizziness, and took an assessment of the damage, telling Sandy and Sophie both, "We're a little worse for wear, but we are operational, at about 86% efficiency, soon to be 87%."
"Good," Said Sandy to her EGO psyche through their telepathic link, a little dizzy herself, before addressing Volodja with a grin, "Love the attention, but got mutants to kill! Can I get a rain check on that TLC for tonight?"
With that said, Sandy began firing her SMG again in short bursts, both to conserve ammo and to reduce the risk of hitting any of her compatriots with friendly fire.

"You bet, my love," said Volodja, sighing from relief (Sophie did the same). "But I have one condition. You will have to stay alive and well, unless you don't want me to tag along with you all the time. Do we have a deal?" And Volodja took out his pistol (no matter what he wore, he always carried a pistol with him) and nailed aggressive Mutant to the wall with few well aimed shots, reached out his hand and pulled Sandy to the floor because Tony decided that fastest way to Mutants is jumping over Sandy's and Volodja's position. "Out of the damn petrohol!" he yelled, throwing his chainsaw among Mutants. "But I have my bat!" He swung aforementioned bat and landed it straight to the most strategic place of another Mutant Cleaver. "Would you mind to step aside and let us shoot?" asked Volodja politely. "Not at all, Volo. Just give me a second." And Tony the Bat jumped over their position again. "All I wanted was to have a little fun." said Tony innocently. "Not to spoil yours." "It's not exactly a fun," marked Volodja. "We do what we have to do, even if it means killing for the cause." "We might disagree on that, Volo," stated Tony the Bat. "I am here to eliminate Inquisition's local branch and get Mek back in good condition. And play with my toys. That's my cause. Your cause is something different. Maybe it's bigger than mine. But we can discuss about it after the battle. Hey, Vo! What's our next move?"

As the team continued to eliminate the remaining mutants, Vo was still playing cat and mouse with the heavy-armored shotgunner mutant. His opponent was not too agile and acted rather predictable, giving Vo an opportunity to hide behind cover right before the each moment the mutant tried to nail him with his huge shotgun.
"Hey, Vo! What's our next move?" He heard Tony's voice and noticed that this shotgunner was the only enemy left to defeat in the room. But what bothered Vo the most was that the shotgunner's armor was still sturdy regardless of how much damage it had absorbed already.
"Prepare to fire a salvo! Put a damage spike!" Vo shouted shooting a full set of sticky grenades from his Milking Maid at the mutants and trying to position him with his back turned to the team for them to get a clear shot. Suddenly the shotgunner deployed another protection spike and turned around ignoring Vo at the moment. "Traitor", muttered mutant with his loose jaw, aiming his shotgun at Kaj.
"You've not finished with me yet!" Exclaimed Vo as he jumped up to the mutant and hit the back of his head with the buttstock of his detonator the way he did before to keep the enemy's attention on himself. That did the trick and Vo could barely duck down so that the next shot hurtled right above his head. But with the maneuver he performed, Vo could not go away unharmed as his butt received a powerful kick which made him sprawl on the floor. He quickly rolled to the side behind the conveniently placed ammo box right in time to avoid another shot. Taking the advantage of the time the mutant needed for reloading his shotgun, Vo jumped to another cover farther from the protection spike and waited for his enemy to come out of its range. Once he saw on the radar that the mutant went far enough from it, he changed his cover again and shouted "Fire!" as he pressed a detonation switch on his detonator as well. A deafening double explosion sounded as the main charges and their clusters went off sequentially, echoed by the weapon fire from where other team members were located. When the dust settled and Vo got up from the floor where he was thrown by the explosion, he saw the mutant was dead and almost torn apart by the multiple projectiles and explosives that hit him simultaneously.
"Finally", Vo exhaled, examining the corpse and pulling the controlling device from his arm, "By the way anyone needs a new cyber rig? It seems this guy was equipped with a nice set of them."
Once he finished the examination, he observed the room again and noticed the door that had not opened yet. Shirra confirmed that the door was not under control from the main system and could only be opened by the Engineer's device. Vo signaled the team to take cover away from the line of fire of anyone who could be behind the door. Then he activated it from the control device and looked intently as the door was sliding open. The only thing one could see behind the door was the energy barrier which was blocking the way into the tunnel. With his enhanced senses Vo could also notice a faint movement behind it against the light spot.
"Cloaked snipers", Vo said, taking cover and signaling to his team members to not peek out yet. The energy barrier could be also disabled using the Engineer's control device, but the snipers and possibly other traps did not bode well for anyone who might try to enter.
"Everyone EGO-wielding, equip your Decoy with a scan sweep engaged. Done? Now, by my command, launch you decoys into the tunnel and hide again. I'll put the barrier down and release mutants here so that they could follow the decoys into the tunnel. Kaj, stay behind the cover. If their most smart leader turned onto you only at the end of the battle, others will likely not even notice you're not from their ranks unless you attack them first. Everyone ready? Go!"
Vo pushed buttons on the Engineer's control device to disable the barrier, and his EGO released the doors which were holding mutants behind. at the same time, his Decoy ran into the tunnel which was open now, only to be shattered by a sniper's shot.

Kaj looked down at what was left of the meat puzzle of a corpse and quietly chuckled as he said, "See? I told you that you would go boom. HOOAH!!!!!"
Then he looked back at Vo and said, "Still not completely sure what a cyber rig is. I know I would like one, but I assume that I need to get an EGO first and I have not had the time to ask all in Command for permission to do so yet. So that rig does me no good at the moment. If nobody else wants it then I will hold onto it. However as all of you have the EGOs you get first dibs. Now what next Vo?"
Once Vo finished the examination, and it was decided who got the Cyber rig, Vo observed the room again and noticed the door that had not opened yet. Vo signaled the team to take cover away from the line of fire of anyone who could be behind the door. Then he activated it from the control device and looked intently as the door was sliding open. Kaj nodded in the affirmative and took cover again. He reloaded and waited as out of sight as a huge guy could be.
Vo pushed buttons on the Engineer's control device to disable the barrier, and his EGO released the doors which were holding mutants behind. at the same time, his Decoy ran into the tunnel which was open now, only to be shattered by a sniper's shot.
Kaj continued to wait behind his cover waiting for his moment to lay suppressive fire, or spray the room with exploding rounds from his EXL Deadly Detonator, as needed. However he did know one thing he could do while still keeping hidden for the most part. So using his genetically enhanced senses he gauged where the biggest grouping of enemies would be just inside the newly opened door and lobbed a couple of his bio-grenades into the room to at least slow the enemy and weaken their armor for the rest of his squad, while he still technically followed orders by staying unseen behind his cover.

"I think that Mutants and our Decoys deserve an equal chance in this aftermath of the Pale Wars where Votan fanatics are fighting EMC frenetic Mutants," said Volodja calmly, before turning his Cloak on and moving himself into the safe distance from others so he can't reveal their hide out if something goes wrong.
"Breathe in, breathe out. Rhythmically. Be one with your rifle and pull the trigger when you are sure," Volodja reminded himself. His moments of hesitation about sniping someone occurred earlier this time, so now there were only him, his rifle and enemy snipers to begin a duel with.
Looking through the scope revealed position of the first sniper who just vaporised Vo's decoy. No matter how efficient Cloak is, experienced eye is able to detect the vague silhouette of it's user because even cloaked persons are not able to blend into environment one hundred percent. Especially when the Cloak user has to move and they always do, because assuming an aiming stance and shifting position is all about movement. Volodja held his breath, caught silhouette into his sight and his finger pulled the trigger with a smooth move at the very moment when his aim was steady.
Cloak vanished right away, revealing the sniper who immediately became a target of Mutant cleavers and bullets. Sniper staggered under the metal storm, while his shield disappeared due incoming strikes. Next bullet and cleaver rain penetrated his armour, sending him backwards and finally making him fall to the ground.
Volodja's eyes were searching for the next sniper already. Duel had to continue until they manage to accomplish their battle plan. Volodja released his Decoy and saw how it was scattered all around after receiving a blow. Second sniper was discovered. He was cloaked just as his former colleague and just revealed his position by destroying Volodja's Decoy. Since Volodja's EGO powers were recharging now, he had to operate without disguise, but he had his spikes and using the damage one should give him an advantage, because sniper had to react to Volodja's guest appearance, aim at him and shoot. Doing all of that takes time while Volodja already located his opponent, meaning that he was able to shoot first.
As soon as Volodja's spike hit the ground, Volodja resumed his aiming stance and pointing his rifle exactly on the position of the second sniper. Quick aim and even quicker squeeze on the trigger and second sniper was revealed to the eyes of Mutants, but they could not have their way with him, because Volodja's bullet pierced sniper's armour, sending him into sniper's Valhalla.
Volodja hid himself again and prepared to send out another Decoy to check the path for possible surprises...

"So you refuse to speak?" asked Marcel politely from the caught drug courier who stubbornly refused to reveal any information about late Askaru Ivu's drug distribution station defences. "Maybe my English is not good enough to make myself understandable. Major obstacle in the way of communication and mutual understanding is a language barrier. Since my English is obviously not understandable, I should teach you some French instead. Let us begin with children's songs as they usually do. There are two most famous songs in French - "Frère Jacques" and "Alouette" I think that we should start with the latter, because "Ding dang dong" kind of approach is too slow and time is money. Let me begin singing and if you want to know then "Alouette" is a children's song about plucking the feathers from a lark. Let me sing you a bit and while I am doing it, my lovely girlfriend Lena here is here to show you literally what lyrics mean. First verse is about plucking feathers from the lark's head, so mind to take his scalp, Lena? Of course not, so let us begin:
"Alouette, gentille alouette, Alouette, je te plumerai.
Je te plumerai la tête. Je te plumerai la tête. Et la tête! Et la tête! Alouette! Alouette! A-a-a-ah...""
(Little skylark, lovely little skylark, Little skylark, I'll pluck your feathers off.
I'll pluck the feathers off your head. I'll pluck the feathers off your head Off your head! Off your head! Little lark! Little lark! O-o-o-oh...)
The courier wasn't sure what was worse - Marcel's singing or the pain he felt when Lena started to peel off the skin from his head...

The path for the march of Mutants was cleared now and Decoys run towards the next door, leading to the Inquisitors, Mutants close behind them. Shirra opened politely the door and Mutants stormed in. To save everybody's feelings and give some room to imagination, Shirra closed the door as soon as last Mutant entered. "Sophie dear," said Volodja. "Keep prison doors tightly closed. No need for casual victims.""Will be done, Volodja. Right away," sounded Sophie's eager reply. "Did I just heard lot of joy and excitement in her voice?" Volodja thought. He was correct about that - Sophie's melodic voice was overwhelmed by positive emotions after finding out that Sarge was fine. "I'd suggest us take a break until the Mutant mayhem inside is over," said Volodja to others. "Sophie keeps captives away from the rumble. Brandy anyone?" He offered his boot flask to others first. Part of military traditions and rituals is sharing the drink before the battle. They hadn't time to do that before, but now they were given a chance to do it while they catch their breath before entering to the next stage of the "Search for Inquisitors, destroy their Indogene drug supplies and rescue their captives" mission.

Kaj helped as much as possible from cover tossing his grenades and firing the occasional explosives while Sandy, Vo, and Volo did most of the hard work, so he didn't draw too much attention as a "traitor", according to the mutants, and become a liability to his friends and teammates.
Once that room was cleared of Inquisitor opposition, Vo has his EGO open the next door and the team watched as the mutants stormed the next room. Once all the mutants were in there the door was closed and Volo had his EGO seal it from the team's side.
Kaj came out of his cover when the all clear was given, then glanced at Volo holding up a flask. Kaj thought for a second, as he didn't want to offend his friend. Then with some uneasiness in his voice, he said, "No thank you, my friend. I do not drink. It is not a good idea. Neither is getting me angry for that matter. Although that does take a lot to do. And before you ask, I would rather not talk about what happened last time I was drunk AND angry. Just know it is not a good thing for those around me, and it is NOT something that I ever want to happen again!!!"
Then Kaj looked back at the closed door. He smiled and chuckled as he once again talked calmly, like his friends are used to hearing him, "So are we taking bets on the winners of that "No Holds Barred" match? If so, my bet is on the EMC. They may be considered mindless mutants now, however they are still a well-trained and unstoppable military force. Hmm how about if Mutants win, then those who betted on the Inquisitors have to convince Commander Batman to authorize me to get a special EGO like one of yours, and if Mutants lose then I will mod your current weapons however you want when we get back to Fortress Ka'shaa, and either continue not to have an EGO, even though it would be useful if I am to be a permanent part of the team like Belle offered, or get a basic one if I can get it authorized. How does that sound?"

"I will respect you wish," said Volodja. "But you know where Wolfram's office is if you feel like talking. I'll be hanging there a lot, I assume, unless we start classes again. Sometimes it's good to talk. But I would be careful about betting - it's just like Pale Wars behind that door. EMC vs Votans. As a result we don't have any winners. Only survivors just like after Pale Wars, and I am afraid that we have to eliminate them as well, because they want us dead and we can't afford that.
After that we should arrange some kind of ceremony for them all, no matter which side they fought. Russian military genius Alexander Suvorov once said that a war is not over until the last soldier has been buried. So least we can do to help to put an end this conflict between humans and Votans is to arrange an improvised memorial service for the fallen, so they won't be forgotten. So the war won't be forgotten and same mistakes won't be repeated over and over again, although humankind has managed to prove that we are capable to repeat same mistakes. But we should never lose the hope that one day we will learn from our previous misdeeds and WON'T repeat them any more. Now we can discuss about more realistic hopes and wishes.
I guess that we can provide you with an EGO psyche if you are sure that you want one. We have tools, we have specialists, we have everything needed to provide you with one, so you have my support without that bet, because we also have a lot of situations ahead when EGO proves to be extremely useful, and not because I am afraid to lose."
Volodja offered his flask to others now after Kaj politely refused, being afraid of something what's happened in his past. People tend to be different - some are drinking to forget their past problems just like Wolfram used to do, some people won't drink because of exact reason like Kaj seemed to act. And some people just drink sometimes to enjoy the taste of a quality brand, like Volodja. Every battle takes time and at moment there wasn't any other ways to spend it than drinking and talking.
After awhile Vo decided that now it was safe for them to enter, so everyone got themselves up and entered from the now opened door with extreme cautiousness. They moved further one at the time, others covering one's movement. Those simple tactics were proved to be reliable after testing them in numerous battle situations. First on the row set up a base of fire, the second one advanced and stopped in suitable position to provide next one to move with fire support if needed. That kind of advancing enabled them to control all the battlefield and keep themselves prepared to engage the enemy at the first sight of danger, although there wasn't any danger so far. Only bodies of fallen Mutants were on the floor until they started to see dead Inquisitors as well. Seemed that Inquisitors managed to hold their defence for awhile until they were overflooded by attacking Mutants.
Body of first Inquisitor was sitting on the floor, his back leaned against the wall. Fallen Inquisitor was surrounded by pile of dead Mutants and his hand still held an empty pistol. Not far from them were bodies of another Inquisitor and Mutant Cleaver, hands still around each other throats. Further away was whole pile of bodies, hit by a grenade. Everything there told about hard battle, resulting with only few possible survivors, because both side were fighting fanatically to the end. It wasn't that hard to imagine what might happened if their team had to break through from the rows of Mutants first, only to face Inquisitors after that. Even Tony the Bat was quiet when he saw what happened there. Survivors of that battle had to be toughest...or luckiest.

Post by Lena Marr on Oct 3, 2015 21:20:42 GMT
When Lena Marr was Belle Starr's prison guard, Lena wondered about the ancient human outlaw that Belle had named herself after. There were vast times where there was nothing to do, and watching Belle sleep was entertaining for awhile, because Lena was bi-sexual and Belle was quite lovely. But after awhile, Lena felt watching Belle was like a starving man seeing pictures of tasty food - mouthwatering but not very satisfying! So Lena found other ways to occupy herself; however, after her vibrator batteries went dead, she got bored again. Finally, Lena looked into the computer library of Fortress Kshaa, finding American history records of the old west, including the female outlaw Belle Starr. Lena was disappointed, as the woman Belle named herself only became an outlaw for the love of some man, and then got herself assassinated at the end, or some tales told. But Lena did find something in the history of the American old west that fascinated her: Indians of the southwest of North America! It wasn't their spirituality, or life style or the fact that the native North Americans were virtually annihilated by the invading European immigrants, but it was a custom that they did to a defeated enemy that fascinated her. Scalping was the taking of a part of the victim's scalp with the accompanying hair, severing it from the head of an enemy as a sign of victory, as done by some North American Indians during the colonial and frontier periods in the United States. Lena imagined scalping Belle as she slept, then wearing her scalp with it's beautiful blond hair on her belt, although she knew that would pretty well blow her cover for her spying, so she didn't do it. Sometimes, Envy, one of the voices of the seven deadly sins that occupied Lena's mind along with Hope, would occupy Lena's EGO and speak to her, and Lena would wish she had scalped Belle anyway, back then, discovery notwithstanding. Belle's scalp would have made such a nice souvenir of her stay at Fortress Kshaa! Lena's EGO was currently occupied by Pride, who was instructing her on the proper method of scalping the drug courier that she and Marcel were interrogating, and as she did he screamed in pain. When Lena had finished her messy task, she stepped back to admire her work and as she crossed her chalk white arms splattered in red blood, Lena grinned wickedly. "Not a bad job for my first scalping," Lena waved the drug courier's scalp around in exaggerated gesture, then asked rhetorically as she eyes his crotch with cold sky blue eyes, "I wonder if you can scalp hair from other places of a body?"

Vo took a small sip from Volo's flask just enough to feel the taste and gave the flask back to its owner. He didn't like drinking the effect alcohol had on him. Even small amounts of it hampered his coordination and senses and increased the reaction time. But what was even worse, he actually felt that he could not perform as precisely as he usually did, and that was making him irritated and could possibly lead to losing his focus in a fight. One sip shouldn't make a difference, but it would be enough to show the respect for the tradition. While they were waiting for the battle behind the door to end, Vo told his teammates an old story how Taffer tried to attach a cloak generator to a Hannibal ATV. The result was actually a bit unexpected — the ATV did not become invisible, but started to change its color each time the engine was started. Moreover, the generator started to draw so much power from the engine that the most powerful model Hannibal 800 became weaker than its low-power counterpart Hannibal 650. Torc Mok could not sell them for any suitable profit, so he started to give them away for free as a promo. Vo joked that those could be a nice collector's item as the amount of those given away was very limited. Soon Vo noticed that even with his enhanced senses he could not hear any sounds coming from the other side of the door, so he decided it was relatively safe to enter. They went in with extreme cautiousness and Volodja volunteered to go first again as he did at the beginning of their mission. They passed by piles of bodies searching for survivors. Finally they found them and those were four severely wounded mutants who they didn't have trouble to finish off. Once the last shot sounded, Vo looked around the room thoroughly and noticed something that caught his eye. It was a melt and charred chunk of Votan plastic. He had already seen those before and that time they were a mark of a dead end for him. "It was a one-shot Dark Matter portal", Vo said, showing the chunk of plastic to the team. "Destroyed after one or two people passed through it. Someone had teleported from here, leaving all these people to fight an unwinnable battle. Volo, Sandy and Tony, check the prisoner's rooms and release them. Be careful with the Indogene though, he could be not in a nice state of mind. Kaj, I need your detective skills again. I don't see any storage here and I highly doubt they managed to pass everything they were hiding here through that portal. They wouldn't be establishing their stash in such deep and dangerous place if all they had to keep could be just carried around on someone's back. So there should be a storage room definitely. But it's definitely hidden and I'm afraid its location was unknown to anyone who died here as they would use it as a cover or a hiding spot otherwise. So I need you to find any clues on where their storage can be and how it can be opened."

Post by Sandy Bell on Oct 3, 2015 22:35:27 GMT
Sandy Belle found a concealed door that was not very well hidden, but after jimmying it open with her combat knife, it revealed an Indogene male chained to the wall. He had duct tape over his mouth and his eyes were wide with fright, as he rigorously shook his head from sided to side, a gesture Sandy misinterpreted a she put her knife back into its sheath. Sandy raised both her hands palms forward to reassure him, saying soothingly as she stepped forward into the room, "It's okay! We're here to rescue you, and Tony is here with - " Suddenly Sandy heard the telltale beeping of a proximity mine commonly used by the EMC, both during her time in the Pale Wars and the EMC mutants today. During the Pale Wars, Sandy once asked her commanding officer why the mines gave a warning beeping, because she thought it crazy that you were going to warn anyone that you were about to blow them up. He told her in a condescending tone that it was a type of psyhcological warfare that the sound would panic those of the enemy who did survive making them easier to kill. She had laughed at the time, thinking it funny in that there wouldn't be much left of the enemy once the mine went off. Sandy wasn't laughing now. She rushed forward, covering the helpless Indogene's body with her own as the blast ripped through the small room. Sandy's baby blue eyes grew wide in pain from the sharp shapnel hitting her back and head, but as she looked into the Indogene's face as she slid down his body into a pool of her own blood on the floor, she could see the gratitude in his eyes and noted that her action had kept him unhurt. As her own eyes fluttered shut, she had time for two last thoughts. First, she thought with mental bemusement, "I always thought I'd go out in a blaze of gunfire! Never like this in the back! How... ignoble..." Second she thought of Volodja Uljanov, who she loved deeply, and asked Sarge, her EGO Psyche, "Please tell Volodja I love him and I wish... just tell him I love him..." As Sandy's world went black, she didn't know that Sarge had already preceded her into oblivion, as a large piece of shrapnel had hit her in the back of her neck, and was now sticking out of her EGO implant.

Kaj, was slowly looking and investigating as he was ordered to, and had just found a secret room full of canisters, when he heard the explosion. He was quickly through the hidden door the explosion came from and did NOT like what he saw. He knelt down and checked Sandy for a pulse and was relieved when he felt one, but of course still very concerned. Kaj looked at the Indogene who seemed alright but understandably shaken.
He then returned his gaze to Sandy. He had some experience in combat medicine, so when he looked he was confident in that most of the noticeable shrapnel could be removed with no further damage. So he did so. However he was not sure about the big piece in the back of her neck and piercing her EGO. So he had to leave that one until somebody with more medical training than him could make the call. He then gently pulled her to him and held her to his broad chest, careful of her wounds and shrapnel, as he whispered, "Do NOT give up my Little Soldier! That is an order! If you will not take the order of a lieutenant, then take it from somebody who considers you his BEST friend! You mean so much to all of us and....I can not lose my only friend! Not again!"
Kaj gently and cautiously picked her up and carried her out of the small room. "Tony, your friend is in there. He looks injured. Vo, Volo Sandy needs a doctor, NOW! I did what I could but only know basic combat medical training so she needs a real doctor and soon. It does not look good but she does still have a pulse. Her EGO has a huge shard of shrapnel in it, but those can be replaced and I heard somebody at Fortress Ka'shaa say that Volo's EGO Expert programs all of his "special" EGOs to make backups so he should be able to restore her EGO from the last backup. There are canisters of some sort in the other hidden room I found. So please say that we are done and that we can get her back right now! I am NOT letting my friend and teammate die, if possible! So either way, I am taking her back now and am guessing by Volo's look, that he is coming with me! Besides the action is over, and you have Tony and his men here if you still need help!"
Kaj held Sandy the whole time refusing to let her leave his hands while hoping Volo could keep it together, while he made it clear to Vo to that he was getting Sandy back to Base and medical treatment right away and orders be damned. Besides everything seemed to be found and Vo had Tony and his men here as backup in any way that he needed. Vo agreed and contacted Atticus at Fortress Ka'shaa with the news, while they quickly thought of the quickest way to get her back to base.

Lady and I were now wearing robes and in our downstairs sitting room watching Dinara as she tried to change the babies for the first time. She had just changed Caprice and placed her back in her crib, when I got Vo's EGO message. I gently kissed Lady and said, I am afraid duty calls my Snow Angel. I will be in our Control room. Hopefully I can handle the issue from there."
As I headed to the Control room, Dinara popped back into my head and Lady got up to change Cosmin. Once in my control room, I alerted Fortress Ka'shaa of an incoming medical emergency, and did a quick check of resources as I talked to Vo. After a few seconds I responded to Vo. "Vo, the 13th Dragoons send groups to Alcatraz for expeditions regularly. I am checking to see if they have a transport there now!" After a quick EGO conversation with my old friend Blackgut, I got back to Vo via EGO. "Vo, the 13th Dragoons have a team that just arrived at Alcatraz. I informed their Commander, that we have a medical emergency and need to commandeer their transport and he agreed without question. So their pilot is in their Gargoyle still at Alcatraz, awaiting your team's arrival. So he can get you here right away! I already alerted Medical of an incoming emergency. I am sending them a message now, that she will arrive by copter. So they will have a team at the heli-copter pad standing by for your arrival! I am also dispatching a security team, led by Corporal Lebeau, to help you with everything else. May Irzu be with all of you!"
After alerting medical, as well as Lebeau and the War Room staff, I walked back into the sitting room with a grim look on my face. As Lady hugged me and asked what was wrong, I said, "I am afraid that when it rains, it pours, however sunlight is normally around the corner. So let's hope that is true now. That was Vo. Sandy was severely injured. I have procured them as fast a transport as I could. Now I must go make sure the Medical team and heli-pad are all prepared. So please do not try to leave us again, while I am gone. I love you and will see all three of you later, MY Snow Angel."
I gave my wife a long and loving kiss, then I kissed both twins on the forehead and went back up to our bedroom, where I quickly got my clothes, armor and gear back on. Then I went back downstairs. As I headed for the door, Lady gave me another loving kiss and said that she knew I would be an amazing Commander. Then I returned the kiss and left our home bunker.
I quickly contacted Lebeau by EGO. He told me that Doctor Orion's staff already had a triage team heading to the roof pad, and on standby. So I went to Medical and checked in with them. Doctor Orion was already there, preparing his surgical room and staff, as I walked in. I said, "Doctor, Vo had his EGO scan Sandy Bell's vitals and send them and a list of her injuries to my EGO. I am uploading them to your medical computers now."
Doctor Orion quickly went to a computer and checks the information that I just uploaded to it, and he relayed it to his staff so they can be sure that everything is ready.
