In this thread I'll be collecting some neat tricks that can be used in the game for your convenience.
First of all, check the list of chat commands, which can be used to perform many actions in the game without going through menus.
How do I invite to my group those people who replied to me in the chat?
The long way is to do Search in the Socials menu, then click Group. The short way is to use command /i Player Name . Use Search only if you're unsure of exact player name (Those letters and numbers I/l 0/O, 5/S, etc.).
My clan mate called us to a public event, but I can't port to this particular clan mate from my quick menu!
Yep, the quick menu shows about 15 clan members in an alphabetical order, so, say, Belle Starr will likely be on the list, but someone like Vo Kshaa probably won't. But there are several workarounds:
1. /invite the clan mate to a group then port to a group member through the quick menu. Important: once you're there, /leavegroup immediately so that your clan mate could accept group invites again. Important: if you ported to Warmaster instance, do NOT /leavegroup but ask the leader to kick you. This way you'll leave the group but won't be kicked from the instance.
2. /friend your clan mate and use port to friend function. Porting to friend is the most stable of the teleporting functions and it also allows to join a mission-specific phase if you're helping your friend with the mission. Group menu has a specific Join Phase button, but it may not work properly, while the Port to Friend always works. The downside is, the friend list is limited, so at some point one won't be able to accept new friends.
3. ask for a group invite in the Clan chat. Note that in this case someone who is already at the supposedly action-packed event has to read your message, enter chat and type in the /invite command. It's less convenient for them than just accepting a group or a friend invite from someone.
What is the difference between Whisper, Reply and Private Chat functions?
/whisper allows you to type a single message to a player. No one else will see it. /reply allows you to reply to a private message without typing the name of the player who sent it to you. Entering Private Chat allows you to exchange messages with each other repeatedly without typing any additional commands. But more importantly, you can use in-game voice chat when you enter the Private Chat. You need to switch the voice chat channel to PRIV in the small menu to the left of the minimap, and then you can talk to your counterpart even if the chat window is inaccessible, for example, when you have a trade or matchmaking window open. Of course, you can always /invite your counterpart to a group and use group chat and group voice channel for the same purpose.

Someone sent a set of coordinates to the chat, how do I find the place?
Open your map and hover the cursor over it. In the upper left corner you'll see the coordinates of your cursor. Move it over the map so that its coordinates would match those written in chat, and then set the waypoint marker.
Can I copy/paste text in the chat?
Yes, you can. You can use Home, End and Right Arrow keys to move the cursor in the chat input field (but not Left Arrow, it switches the chat channel instead), same keys combined with Shift to select text to copy, Ctrl+C to copy text and Ctrl+V to paste. Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert keys don't work for some weird reason, so left-handed people are left out .
Someone sent me a picture of a heart (♥) through the chat! How did they do that?
When your cursor is in the chat window, hold Alt key and type a number on the Numpad (the right part of your keyboard with numbers, Enter and the Num Lock key). For example, Alt+3 gives you a heart, Alt+13 a note sign (♪), Alt+0181 — a "µ" letter (a 'micro' sign). You can paste some symbols from Charmap application too.
I've leveling up quickly but I don't want to spend arkforge just yet. Where can I get a decent weapon for general use?
Go to the hidden vendor at Crystal Pond and buy a Blue-rarity Votan Pulser or the one at Hermit's Hideaway and buy an EMC Service Rifle.
By the way, what do those titles like Chango or Yelanda Nanggo, etc. mean?
OK, you've asked for it.
Chango — a monkey (Spanish. Used as an insult. Means an idiot).
Chivo — a goat (Spanish. Used as an insult. Means a selfish, arrogant man).
Votofoja — a "race traitor", a person of Votan race who have chosen to live in peace with humans. Used as an insult by Dark Matter and other groups who fight humans.
Yelanda Nanggo — an imaginary curse word, means "damned fuck", confirmed by devs.
So, basically, all these titles are insults.
I've outleveled all my weapons again, but I need a weapon for Warmaster right now. Which one should I buy?
Actually, there are plenty of weapons that would suffice, so I'll just give you my recipe.
1. Buy a purple Frontier Battle Rifle at Top Notch reputation vendor (it's a damage-enhanced FRC Heavy Assault Carbine).
2. Go to Iron Demon Ranch and buy mods:
— Ionic Barrel;
— Controlled Burst Magazine;
— Commando Scope;
— Recoil reduction stock;
3. Set Overcharge as your EGO power. Add perks:
— Overload;
— Single Minded;
— Pumped Up;
— Time Out;
These will reduce the reload time and will make frequent reloads work to your benefit.
Well, that's it. You have a good weapon for both phases of Warmaster (armor breaking and crit spot shooting), it also breaks armor plates if it has Bio nano effect (depends on EGO level at which you buy it), and it will allow you to stay away from the crowd thanks to its accuracy and falloff distance, so bombs won't hit you so frequently.
How do you make screenshots in the game?
The game does not provide any functionality for the screenshots, so you’ll have to use some external program. The most simplistic way is to press Print Screen key, which will place an image into the Windows Clipboard, and then paste it to some picture viewer or editor program. MSPaint is the built-in program for Windows, and it can be used to save a screenshot in a JPG or PNG format, but I recommend to install a more sophisticated program so that you would have some control on JPG’s level of compression vs. quality and PNG’s number of colors. You don’t need a photo editor, just a simple image viewer like IrfanView, XnView or ACDSee have this functionality.
On the other hand, there are many programs that can be used to take screenshots or even record video in the game and store them automatically when they run in the background. FRAPS, PlayClaw, Bandicam, etc.
How do I disable the interface when I’m taking the screenshot?
The game does not provide any functionality for this, but there’s a trick. Hit Escape to bring up the game menu. Hit Escape again and take a screenshot right after the menu disappears and before the interface appears on the screen. Yes, this could be tricky but possible.
I’ve seen some screenshots taken from a first-person perspective. How do they do that?
There are at least two tricks I know of.
1. Press your character’s back to the wall and crouch. This way at some angles the camera will fly over the character’s head, leaving them out of the view.
2. Aim with a scoped weapon and make a interface-less screenshot as described in the answer above. The preferred is the Commando Scope for the AR, as others have too narrow field of view to take screenshots comfortably.
