Belle Starr wasn't sure why she locked the door to the office. Belle was sure Iri would never purposely put her or Fortress K'shaa in any danger, but it has been a while since she had seen either Iri or Chase, and Iri was clearly desperate to help him. The fact was, Belle knew very little about either of their activities since they left the team. Rosa and Eren at Topnotch had told her that Iri had been doing research as to Chase's amnesia there, and the bartender at the Crater confirmed the rumors that Chase as Cody had gone back to ark hunting, but other then that, she didn't know what they had been doing, although she always listened to the Bay Area grapevine for information about them. Belle's secondary career as a freelance FCN reporter had taught her to do that as well as to develop a network of sources.
Still, Belle didn't know if she locked the door to the small office because of habit or a sense of security, but she had, leaving it so even though she felt bad about it. She hoped Iri wouldn't take it as a bad omen, or worse still, think Belle didn't trust her, but what was done was done. Belle walked across the hall to the War Room, gathering Volodja Uljanov, Atticus Batman, and Erika Widowmaker, the commanding Triumvirate of Fortress K'shaa, as well as Taffer, the only surviving member of the team from when Chase as Chase was a member, around her, briefing them on the situation and what Iri wanted.
In fact, Iri had asked for something from Belle that wasn't hers to give. Belle wasn't the leader of the team, and not even sure she was still on it. Belle was merely the VBI liaison to Fortress K'shaa since she was the Director of VBI's Division of Security Analysis, which rented space here. Belle knew she was still considered senior statesman around the base, with a very high security clearance, and the public face of the team to the Bay Area and its government, but she truly believed she did not have the authority to grant Iri's request. However, one thing she could do was be Iri's advocate for her cause, so she put Iri's case in the best light possible as she presented it.
"After all," Said Belle as she closed her argument, "I can have Brody watch what data she accesses as he helps her go through it, so what harm can it do? What do y'all say then?"

Erika Widowmaker crossed her muscular red clay colored arms as she leaned casually against the War Room wall, saying in a matter-of-fact way, "It has the potential to do a great deal of harm if the wrong information falls into the wrong hands. I'm assuming this information goes back to the Pale Wars, or at the very least when Dark Matter controlled this base. Either way, it could lead to something being revealed that was best left hidden."
Erika paused, her jade green eyes becoming unfocussed as she was deep in thought as she said, "However, I more than most understand the importance of helping family, and Chase is clearly Iri's family. If she is carefully monitored and the information she uncovers does not leave this base, I vote to let her do her research on it, with the caveat that she does it here and uses only our labs to test it. That would mean that Iri and Chase would have to relocate here for the duration of her research and experimentation."
Erika's large jade eyes regained their normal intensity, looking sternly at the rest of the team, "Let us please make this decision immediately and be done with it. My grandchildren need rescuing, and although I reluctantly agree with Taffer that we must make a fuel stop on the way to Lima to keep safe, I feel in my bones that every moment we delay the children are in greater danger."

Lady Christianna sat perched on a high stool in Haele's lab, staring at Sandy Bell's body encased in the Gulanee life pod, as she heard but didn't listen to Dr. Pyotr Pavlovich Yershov's lecture on how he was going to transfer Sandy's consciousness from Lady's EGO to Sandy's body. All Lady heard was blah, blah, blah, not sure we need a medium for this, blah, blah, blah, sure I can do this today, blah blah - "Wait, what was that he said?" Thought Lady, "Today? COOL!" Sandy, deep in the recesses of Lady's EGO implant, thought, "It couldn't be sooner?" In fact, Sandy had already mentally checked out. Once Volodja didn't even make a token attempt to fight for her - for their love - , she knew she didn't have any reason to remain at Fortress K'shaa. Sandy believed the sooner she got back in her body the better, for there was a bold new world to discover outside the base, and she was anxious to begin exploring it, for she felt there was nothing left for her here. Sandy believed the sooner she left Fortress K'shaa, the sooner she could begin the long process of mending her broken heart.

"If we want to help them," said Volodja Uljanov with his calm and melodic voice. "Then we should let Iri to have her tour in our data bases. But it's only my personal opinion. For her support, I must add that she told openly about her intentions instead of trying to act behind our back. Unlike some people, I know."
Volodja meant himself, because he felt like a last scum on Earth - he hurt Sandy and quit fighting for their love and there were no excuses to his deeds. He went silent after making a really short remark which was most unusual for him, leaned back in his chair and maintaining calm impression on his face, pressed his teeth into backside of his lower lip so he could feel the taste of the blood on his mouth. Maybe physical pain will ease pain in his heart, because he hurt the first and only girl who loved him for sure. He will never forget her, as long as he lives. But that didn't decreased his part in breaking her heart for selfish reasons and thought of him hurting Sandy made his heart to bleed. Maybe they weren't meant to last as Belle told him, but that was not an excuse.
He maintained his peaceful look, but his brown eyes turned blank. He had to stay until meeting ends and then he will have to get back Sophie, help Sandy to unite with her corporeal body and then MOM into Lady's mind and Alfred will be transferred back into Belle's mind. When everything is done....actually he didn't even knew what will happen then. Probably nothing, because he will be all alone by then.
He knew that he should stop thinking like that, but it was a really hard task. Maybe he was not meant to love and to be loved after all. He was alone during most of his life and that had one great advantage - he could not hurt anyone back then. And back then Sophie was the closest person to girlfriend Volodja had. If she was back, she would be stimulating his nerves and glands already to help him...or at least played some soothing music.

Captain Sandra "Sandy" Bell awoke to darkness punctuated by explosions of white light, and the sound of voices she recognized. "She be okay?" Asked Lady in the darkness. "Ба́бушка гада́ла, на́двое сказа́ла," Answered Pyotr, "Which translates to 'No one can know for certain,' but I'm fairly certain everything will be fine. Her case is actually simply, since her brain is as intact as her body, so all we had to do is essentially jumpstart her brain cells. Now whether she will retain the memories she made during the time her consciousness was in the EGO device, I do not know." "Mystery solved Doc. I do," Answered Sandy, her blue eyes fluttering open to see the human EGO expert and the Castithan female host to the EGO she formerly inhabited looking down at her as she laid in the open Gulanee life pod. "You feeling okay Lady?" "Yeppers. Empty without you." Lady smiled her trademarked enigmatic smile, then added, "Still pregnant." Sandy smiled, surprised that the action hurt the muscles around her mouth, "When can I get out of here Doc?" "This Gulanee life pod seems to have remarkable healing features as well as life preserving ones, so none of your muscles have atrophied while your body was in essentially a coma-like state. Your body is good to go, although you will be a mite sore when you start to move around a bit. While you were unconscious, I took the liberty to putting in my new prototype EGO implant as well as a new cyber harness, both which will accelerate your physical recovery, although there really isn't much physically to recover as you body was perfectly preserved when it was in stasis. I suspect any recovery you really have to make will be more psychological than physical as you adjust to being corporeal again." "You got that right Doc," Thought Sandy to herself as her mind went back to earlier in the day to her breakup with Volodja whom she thought was her lifetime soul mate, but then the doctor pinched her hard on her arm jerking her out of her musings, as she exclaimed loudly, "OWWWW!" "See," Said the smiling doctor, who Sandy was beginning to think was a secret sadist, "You have to realize you can now feel physical pain, something you really didn't have to deal with as a EGO psyche." "Maybe not physical pain," Thought Sandy bitterly to herself, "But all the mental pain a broken heart can provide!" "It may take months for you to become acclimated with your human nervous system, but I'm sure Dr. Orion and your friends here can help you with that," Pyotr said, "Right now you need rest. I need to prepare for the rest of the EGO psyches being transferred to ther hosts, as that will be much more complex than your operation." "One question Doc," Asked Sandy, not tired at all, "What EGO psyche will I have?" "Like the prototype I put in Lena Marr, your EGO psyche will develop on its own from your memories and personality, although you will have full access to all the EGO powers and perks," Answered Pyotr, then he chuckled, "I'm sure in Ms. Marr's case, the development has been most interesting given her psychotic mental state. Now, if you will excuse me, I have work to do." Lady added before leaving with the Doctor, "Get you quarters." After they left, Sandy sat up and climbed out of the Gulanee life pod, noting that her EGO unit must already be up and running as she didn't have any of the equilibrium problems she was expecting. She took a few tentative steps, finding she was perfectly fit, then looked at her reflection in a full length mirror on the wall. Although wearing only a hospital gown, she could tell that her muscular athletic but shapely body was as she remembered it before the explosion that "killed" her, even to the fact of it being tan and without any trace of the surgeries, although she didn't know how that was possible. She looked closely at her face, seeing it was the same too, from the top of her blond head to her pointed chin with the small scar on it. Her attractive blue eyes looked backed at her, seeing her petite nose and winsome smile still there after all this time. "I'll be damned if I'm staying in a place that doesn't want or need me," Said Sandy with determination to her reflection, then frowned as she saw the backless hospital gown, "But I can't go into the brave new world with my ass hanging out." Sandy looked carefully outside the lab she was in, seeing Pyotr working hard over something in the antechamber next to it, but with his back to her. She took a lab coat off a hook by the door and snuck into the hallway outside, hoping to find an unlocked door to a room that hopefully has what she needed to scavenge for her great escape.

Post by Taffer on Jul 16, 2015 18:51:54 GMT
"I wholeheartedly agree with Erika", voiced Taffer. "So we let Iri do her research with our databases, invite Chase here for medical attention if she finds something suitable, and start our mission right away. Got it. I'm going to tell Lena and Marcel they are hired and then we're going straight to our aircraft. I hope to meet you there so we won't lose any more time." Having said that, he exited the War Room and was about to go to the canteen where he had last seen Lena and Marcel, but then he remembered something — He never saw Lena wearing a shield. That should be fixed right away, he thought, and so he hurried to the armory. He sifted through the high-capacity shields and picked up an Ironclad. Satisfied with his choice he went back with his Cloak on, quietly moving from shadow to shadow. Not that he expected any danger in these familiar corridors, just though he could use this short moment to refresh his sneak skills, feeling he had spent too much time sitting in a pilot seat already. Another dive around the corner and suddenly he bumped into a woman. To his surprise he recognized Sandy, but now she was in her corporeal form, dressed in a lab coat. He was about to ask what she's doing there as he expected to see her celebrating her second birthday rather than wandering along the corridors alone, but the look of her face and the way she intuitively engaged cloak the very second she saw him told him more than any words could. He the shield he carried fall on the floor and muttered, "Damn, I think I've lost it somewhere. Don't have time to search, have to get a new one." Walking by a slightly shimmering volume of air only a trained eye could see, he muttered again, "400 meters straight south of the base. A VBI Tech Expo poster. Right behind it a ruined two-storey house. Orange Dodge Challenger and a weapon stash. Code lock on the Challenger BC614E, which is 12345678 in hexadecimal. Everything else an EGO can handle. Take care and stay alive out there." Then he turned around and walked back to the armory to take another shield, it was a Rhino this time. He didn't know why Sandy had chosen to leave that way, but as everyone else's EGO were up and reported good conditions of their hosts, he decided not to interfere. He had another mission to do anyway and unlike their new guide they were about to hide, Sandy was reasonable enough to make him sure she knows what she's doing if she acts the way she acts. "Lena and Marcel", he addressed the couple once he entered the canteen, "Consider yourself hired. Your payment is in Atticus's hands and I'm sure he won't leave you unsatisfied. And that's from me." He handed the Rhino shield to Lena and added, "Capable of withstanding a shot from a sniper rifle or a rocket blast unless the attacker has as high EGO as yours now. I'm sure that's enough as you won't give anyone a second chance. Now let's get to our ride, it won't wait for us for too long." Having said that, he headed to the flight deck, where the aircraft ready for takeoff was located.

I said, "Yes Taffer has a flight plan and stops for fuel are a great idea. As for Iri, help her any way we can. However you are forgetting something Belle. With Erika and myself gone that leaves Volo and you in charge. However Volo prefers to hide in his thoughts most of the time. So I guess that leaves you in charge to decide all of this. Chris will of course help if needed. However he does take care of maintenance and engineering for the whole base, so he may be busy, with one mission just ending and three of us going on another. As for Lena and Marcel, I guess I let them pick a price and go from there, unless any of you have an idea on that."
Taffer said that is my issue but he will tell our mercenary couple and he left. I glance at my terminal again and say to Erika and Belle, "It looks like Sandy is back in her body. The report says she is free to get back to work right away despite some body fatigue, and her EGO should be active. It's contact information is right here. Look, I don't normally get involved in people's relationships, however I know that there has been a lot of strain on Volo's and her relationship. I will not take Lady on such a dangerous mission, however Sandy is no longer with her. So I say we take Sandy so she can get some fresh air and a working vacation. If she is willing. Besides it is good to have another gun we can trust without having to pay a fortune, unlike our expensive merc couple. Erika, we have a mission to go on. So if you don't mind, I have a lovely wife to say, 'See you later' too, and need to change into something more suitable, for our trip."
As I leave, I whisper low enough so only Belle, with her advanced hearing, can hear. "Please take care of my Lovely Lady while I am gone, and keep her safe. See you later, little sister, Starr Eyes. Remember I love you too."
I get up and head to my quarters on the Vigilant, since that is where my locked armor case containing my 'Harbinger, gear is. As I do I start to send Lady an EGO message, then remember she may not have one right nnow. So I send her a hailer call instead. She answers with, "Hella."
I say, "Hella back, my lovely Snow Angel. I am going to our quarters on the Vigilant to change, then have to report to our other ship to go on the rescue mission. Since you aren't going, I hope to see you in our Vigilant quarters. Besides, I could use a wonderful kiss from you for luck. Or perhaps several, since I don't know how long I must be away from you. But know I will constantly be thinking about you and I love you completely. So I will be back as soon as I can."
After she responds and ends the call, I close my hailer and enter the vigilant. I then go into our quarters. I unlock my armor case and pull out my armor and gear. Then I strip completely and place my 'Hero' gear into the secured armor case. Next, I check the weapons. After that,I get a damp rag from our bathroom and do a quick cleaning of the armor. Once I am done, I put the rag in our clothes hamper, then get ready to get dressed as I glance at the door, hoping that I can see my lovely wife at least for a few more seconds, before I must leave.

"Damn, he's GOOD," Thought Sandy after Taffer spotted her and gave her the coordinates of his secret stash of equipment off the base and walked away, wishing her well as he left.
Sandy bent over and picked up the ironclad shield he dropped for her, but as she stood up Sandy saw Erika leaning casually against the wall with her arms folded and Lady Christianna standing with her small hands on her hips, her usual enigmatic smile replaces with a grim frown on her pretty chalk white face.
"Going someplace without saying goodbye, Sandy?" Erika asked, who had been watching Sandy's movements on the security camers since she started her "Great Escape."
"Opposite of awesome," Added Lady, her pink eyes looking at Sandy accusingly.
"Damn, so much for a clean get-away," Joked Sandy with a lopsided grin. "I'm much better charging up a hill with guns blazing than sneaking around."
"We have a job for you with the team if you would rather than leaving in the dead of night - in Lima, getting my grandchildren. We could equip you and even give you some scrip for your trouble, to help you on your way after the mission is over," Offered Erika in a business like manner."
"Is... Volodja going mission?" Asked Sandy, a frown crossing her pretty tanned face as her blue eyes looked intently at Erika's jade ones.
"No, he is not..." Answered Erika hesitantly, not knowing if that was a good thing or a bad thing by the way Sandy asked the question.
"GOOD!," Said Sandy, much too quickly and way much too loudly in Erika's judgment, so she thought it must be a good thing to Sandy that Volodja wasn't going on the Lima mission.
"I'll go, but you don't have to pay me anything. I owe you all too much already for rescuing me and my body," Added Sandy with resolve. "But I won't promise I won't leave after the mission."
"Okay then," said Erika, "Let's go to the armory and get you equipped. Follow me." As Erika headed down the hallway to the armory and Sandy started to follow, but stopped and embraced Lady, "Sorry! I know I shouldn't have just left without saying good bye and without thanking you for hosting me and after all the damn trouble I've given you but... I just couldn't stay, seeing HIM every day, would just hurt so much! Understand? Forgive me my fucking rudeness?"
Both women knew the "him" to which Sandy was referring to, Sandy's erstwhile lover, Volodja, and put the rest of the puzzle together quickly, with Lady saying merely, "All's forgiven. Miss you already. MEN!"
As Lady watched Erika and Sandy head down the hall to the armory until they were out of sight, she missed entirely the irony of saying what she said and then rushing happily to her new husband to shower him with kisses before he headed off on the same Lima mission.

As Belle Starr went to Halie's lab to prepare for the EGO psyche transfers from the dream machine, she assured Atticus via their EGO communication that Volodja as part of the commanding triumvirate could handle things on the home front, but that she would help Volodja in every way possible. Meanwhile, Lena Marr and Marcel Lestrange sat in the canteen enjoying an extravagant meal with fine wine, when Taffer walked up to them. "Lena and Marcel", Taffer addressed the couple once he entered the canteen, "Consider yourself hired. Now let's get to our ride, it won't wait for us for too long." "Aw Taffer, thanks so much! I didn't know you cared!" Exclaimed Lena with a wicked grin, but as he turned his back to leave, she yelled at his back so that everyone in the canteen could hear, "Hey, it's a Rhino shield! Does that mean you're horny for me?" Lena leaned back against Marcel's strong shoulder and whispered before nibbling on his ear, "Looks like we got the job. Now I wonder what it is?"

Post by Erika Widowmaker on Jul 17, 2015 0:48:48 GMT
Erika Widowmaker took Sandy to the armory, getting her the weapons she wanted and garb more suitable to fighting than healing. Sandy grinned, spotting a camouflaged set of light armor just in her size, quickly donning it with the Ironclad Berserker shield, and then picking up a new sovereign grenade launcher without nanos. Sandy liked to give straight-up damage, and lots of it, and this one with it's expanded radius had great potential to do just that. She then picked up a Votan pulser with fire nanos, always liking sub-machine guns in the Pale Wars but never using a Votan pulser before, although having been on the receiving end of a more primitive version several times, and remembering cursing them prolifically for their fast fire rate. She had liked Belle's Demon Hunter pistol and its fire nanos when she "borrowed" it once, so the combination seemed ideal, and Erika gave her quick instructions on it's use, although it wasn't that different from an EMC SMG. With Sandy dressed and armed, Erika led her to the aircraft they were taking to Lima. Erika's equipment was already aboard, but she was the type to always check them over one more time before going on a mission, so she excused herself to do so. Sandy saw Taffer's back, and walked casually over to him putting a delicate but calloused hand on his shoulder. "Taffer, just wanted to say, thanks for everything, including the damn great shield" Sandy said with all sincerity, "It's always great to have choices, but for now, I want to help the team get back Erika's grand kids. What the fuck I'll do after that, hell if I know! But as I said, it's always great to have choices, and I may still take the option you provided me when we get back, so don't be surprised if the orange Challenger goes missing then!"

"Lena-darling," said Marcel Lestrange, feeling cloud of different sensations on his nibbled ear while his hand squeezed Lena's ample breast. "Since they hired US it's going to be something bloody and violent. So we are either take someone out in Lima or get someone out from there. And having us means that it's not one of those "knight in shiny armour" like operations but something more...shady. Especially when I have a hunch that our model citizens do not take part in it. Moira did some quick research and found that Volodja and Mademoiselle Belle are staying behind. For me it means that this mission has doubtful moral values. Even if their purpose is so called "good" as I assume, means to achieve that will be ruthless, because softies are excluded. I am going to miss Volodja, I must admit. Especially in his moment of misery which I found to be really amusing. But scrip we earn, compensates lack of my personal pleasure, watching how Volodja squirms like a maggot on the fish hook."
Marcel tasted wine again. Those good doers managed to provide themselves with a nice selection of delicatessen. Being good had it's organisational advantages, like arranging constant flow of varieties of goods into their storage, but...but if Lena and Marcel are start an organisation of their own, they don't have to be as good natured as their present employers and since scrip doesn't stink, they can have everything delivered to them as well. Merchant's don't usually care whom they sell as long as they get their profit.

Post by Volodja Uljanov on Jul 17, 2015 5:10:45 GMT
Volodja waited patiently in Haele's lab his reunion with Sophie. He already knew what will happen when she returns. She will give him a lecture about his weak moral ground and he knew that he deserved it. But she means good.
His task is maintain relative order in their Fortress K'shaa. With some help he is able to do it and then he can take his exit from the stage after they return. It's good for Sandy to stay away from him. He will be forgotten faster and she can go on with her freshly regained life and find her true happiness which Volodja wasn't unable to offer. He tried but his efforts weren't good enough. Volodja began to understand that he is no good to anybody. Everything he touches, will wither and rot at the end. Maybe it was a good thing that Sandy left his life and Belle hasn't entered yet. If he stays away then at least Belle will be spared from the same fate Sandy had.
According to statistics Volodja should be dead already and deep in his heart Volodja already expected to meet the Death again soon. At least they have a chance to finish their chess game. Maybe Death had time to learn some new moves and Volodja receives his final checkmate at last. Rest of the team was at beginning of something new, but Volodja felt that he approaches the end. End of the line won't be a new beginning for him. He was too old, too tired and too flawed to be somebody special. One more thing - Sandy was mistaken when she said that team needs him - they did fine before his time and they will do even better, after he is gone. In his present mental and emotional state he is useless but he knew that things won't go any better for him. Fortunately he will be a vague memory to everyone soon and finally it will fade as footprints on the sand. He can't stay here any more after the mess he created. He can't hurt anybody here. That was sure thing. If Marcel would known it, he would be rubbing his hands already, because Volodja fulfilled his expectations about squirming.

Post by Belle Starr on Jul 17, 2015 8:31:29 GMT
Belle Starr sashayed over to where Volodja lay comfortably in Halie's lab, saying with a warm smile and gently placing her pale hand on top of his, "Y'all comfortable, Hon? This won't take long! I'll just go into the dream machine, find Sophie, and - easy peasy - we'll have her back in your noggin in no time!" Belle still felt the electricity in Volo's touch, but couldn't help but notice the sadness in his woe begotten face. Belle squeezed his hand and kissed him, remarking, "For luck!" then sat down on the bed next to him, whereupon Pyotr fastened electrodes to her head as he prepared for her to be the medium in the transfer. As Pyotr had Belle count down from ten, she quite suddenly found herself in the green mist of the dream machine. To her surprise however, she found the lanky form of Vo instead of Sophie facing her, who said, "Why don't you visit me here anymore Belle? Don't you love me anymore?" "Of course I do, Vo!" Replied Belle with a frown, "You'll always be my first true love! But I have to move on now! Y'all want me to be happy, don't you?" The dream Vo grinned his lopsided grin, then hugged her, saying, "Of course I do. I've always wanted only the best for you." Dream Vo then kissed her long and passionately, as Belle's blue diamond eyes closed and she threw back one foot as she leaned into the kiss. Suddenly there was nothing to lean into and she was falling. She opened her big blue eyes, but saw nothing but green mist before her as she fell for what seemed like hours, then suddenly there appeared to be a small flame below her. As she got closer and the flame got larger, she slowed down in her ascent and floated down until her feet found solid ground next to what appeared to be a campfire. Around the fire sat Sophie and Alfred, appearing surprised by her appearance. "Hi Dad! Hi Sophie! Nice campfire! Are those s'mores y'all are eating?" Asked Belle with a big smile. "Yes," Said Alfred holding up a plate of prepared s'mores from where he sat, "And you may have one if you like, but are you here to finally get us out?" "Yeppers, but Sophie first, then Volo will bring MOM down here and bring you back up to me, then Volo will bring MOM up to Lady," Answered Belle between bites of a delicious s'more, which tasted like the best s'more Belle had ever eaten because this was the dream machine after all. "Well then young lady," Said Alfred, pushing the plate of s'mores out of Belle's reach, "You better get on with it." "Okay Dad," Replied Belle with a frown, for she really wanted another s'more, but instead she grabbed Sophie's hand, helping her up as they then found themselves floating up through the green mist and out of the dream machine, Belle feeling very much like Alice must have when she left Wonderland.

Post by Taffer on Jul 17, 2015 10:23:07 GMT
Taffer laughed loudly at Lena's joke about the shield. He liked the irony of inadvertent innuendo his gift presented and as she said it out loud he thought he shouldn't hide his positive reaction on it as well.
Sandy joined him on his way to the flight deck, thanking him for he shield and the information about his stash. He quickly turned his face to her with a finger to his lips, slightly nodding backwards where Lena and Marcel could appear at any second if they were following them. "I won't be telling you about it if I was not ready for it to disappear", he answered smiling with corners of his mouth, then looked at her gear, trying to find something to change the subject. "Bio grenades? Good choice and they match your weapons nicely. We're not expecting heavy-armored enemies against us, but better be safe than sorry."
He also found it was strange Volodja wasn't following them to say goodbye to Sandy at least, but thought it wasn't his business as it wasn't harming their mission at hand which he was busy with.
When they entered the deck, Taffer's face became concerned because the old problem with ground transportation became apparent again with now increased team. They needed some free space in their rollers to pick up kids and with the vehicles they took on an aircraft they had none. Three rollers were not fitting there definitely and two passenger vehicles were not fitting as well. There was always an option to get a third one somewhere in Lima but he didn't like it and thought of it only as a last resort.
"Damn Vo, where are you when you're most needed?" Muttered Taffer, kicking the wheel of his Duni in frustration. He was pretty sure his Irathient friend could easily come up with some crazy idea. But now he wasn't around him and never will be. Suddenly an idea came to his mind and he made an EGO call
"Chris, could you please bring here a Raptor, a nut runner and a couple of pulleys? Yes, I need them right now on a flight deck."
When Chris appeared with the vehicle and tools Taffer asked for, his Duni and Durango was already rolled out of the aircraft's cargo bay which was now free for the Raptor to roll in. Taffer two pulleys to the ceiling of the bay above the vehicle, then threw wire ropes from both Raptor's winches over them. After he hooked the ropes to the roof part of the Raptor's framework, he used the nut runner to detach it from the vehicle and then used its own winches to pull the roof up and push it away to be stored somewhere in the cargo bay separately. Then he reattached the hooks to the Raptor's frame again and used winches to raise the vehicle itself to the ceiling, first the rear end, then the front, fastening the corners of the frame to the ceiling with additional parts of the rope.
"Guess I took the need to come up with a crazy idea a bit literally", Taffer voiced to himself, seeing that there were still enough free space for Durango to be rolled in under the Raptor's frame. "But rough landing would not be an option now".
He fastened the Durango to the floor of the aircraft's cargo bay which was much easier than his previous task, and then went to the pilot seat and powered up all systems, checking if everything is ready for take-off.

Lady walks into our Quarters on the Vigilant while I am still naked, as I am about to put on my clean boxers. I look at the door as it opens and closes and see Lady standing there with her enigmatic smile on her face. She says, "Hella MY nakie hubbie." Then she walks over and kisses me, as she gently guides me to turn with the backs of my legs againt the bed. Then she pushes me onto our bed.
She kneels on the floor between my legs and gives me an amazing blowjob. As she stands up, she gives me a grin and says, "For luck." I stand up after a few seconds, and give her a mischiveous smile, then kiss her passionately as I turn us, so she is against the bed. I gently lay her down. Then I kneel between her legs and remov her pants and panties as I say, "I think I need to give you another big kiss for luck!" Then I lean in and return the pleasure she gave me. I do not lift my face from her delicious loins until she has screamed my name through a couple of orgasms. Next I stand and after she catches her breath, I help her to her feet and redress her bottom.
She then showers me with kises before, while, and after she helps me dress completely in my Harbinger Garb, minus the helm. After we are done kissing again, she carries my helm as we walk out of the Vigilant and to our smaller ship. Before I enter it we say our goodbyes, and she says one more time, "Love ya completely." Then she gives me the hardest longest, most passionate, and most love filled kiss I could remember her giving me up to this point. say, "I love you completely as well, My Snow Angel." Then I return her kiss just as passionately and lovingly. Next she puts my helm on me, and lovingly pats my armored ass, as I turn and reluctantly enter the ship. As I enter, I turned back and blow her a kiss, and she blows one back and waves then, after I enter the ship, she reluctantly leaves to go see Belle.
After I enter the ship, I see Sandy, Erika and Taffer already on board. I look around and say, "Interesting vehicle storage in the cargo bay with the floating Raptor, Taffer. If I didn't know better, I would say that you have Vo hidden somewhere. Well it looks like only Marcel and Lena haven't arrived yet. Sandy it is good to see you. I am glad Erika took my suggestion to invite you on our mission and you agreed. Hope you don't mind that the Fool isn't with us, but he is a little too soft for what may happen on this mission, especially if I have my way, which is why Lady and the others aren't coming either. Skarr has to die, and the others would just stop me."
