As Lady Christianna readied the Vigilant for a quick take-off, Erika Widowmaker sat rocking with her Piper assault rifle on the comfortable rocker on the porch of the house, watching the closed gate of the compound and monitoring EGO communications. Meanwhile, Lena Marr woke up, sitting up from the cot she was lying on and stretching her long chalk white arms as a big yawn uttered from her lush lips. Lena blinked her long lashed sky blue eyes, and asked innocently, "Anything happen while I was asleep?" At exactly the same time, Belle Starr unslung her VBI SMG-EEC, turning on the light attached to it. She looked up to the hole far above, seeing the daylight emanating through it, quickly evaluating that she would NOT be going back outside that way. She was in a tunnel of some sort, and judged that the tunnel seemed to be man-made, Belle figured it must be part of the gulanite mine network outside Defiance. Not seeing a light at either end of the tunnel, Belle took out a coin, flipping it, and catching it with the heads side up. Belle shrugged her armored shoulders, then went to her right hoping to find egress to the outside that way. It wasn't long before Belle came to fork in the road, both literally and figuratively. She was about to take out her coin again to decide which way to go, when a deep commanding voice spoke out, making her turn towards it, her sub-machinegun at the ready. A large unarmed man dressed in ornate purple armor and an unusual hat with a sash that covered most of his face said in a voice rich with charisma, "You appear lost young one." "And y'all appear not to be from around these parts, pardner!" retorted Belle, her narrowed blue diamond eyes noting his purple skin and unusual eyes, telepathically saying with irritation to MOM, her sentient EGO device, "A little warning please!" "Sorry dear, my systems are completely mucked up down here," Replied MOM, frustration evident in her voice. "I am not from around here. I am T'evin of the Omec, new to your planet. I sense that you are not all you seem to be on the outside, although the exterior is very attractive in an exotic manner. I sense cyborg enhancements, with a sentient power granting implant as well. Most unusual for a specimen of the dominant native species of this planet, is the Volge genes spliced into your human ones, I assume. I wish I had time to converse to find out how and why, but I am on a mission of dire importance to my people." Belle found herself completely charmed by his voice, feeling he could ask her to strip naked and walk through fire and she would do so willingly. She slung her SMG, looking him up and down and pleased with what she saw, thinking, "He is just SO yummy! I'm going to have to change my panties when I get out of here!" But saying to him, "I'm Belle Starr of the Earthlings! Pleased to meet y'all! Omec, huh? Can't say I've met any of you folk before, but I should warn you some nasty folk from the Votan Collective are upstairs, and I don't think they hanker to make friends like I do! So T'evin, can you tell me all friendly like what the best way to get back to the surface is, as I've got people up there who might be a mite worried about me!" "But of course, I will show you. Follow me," Replied T'evgin with a slight bow of his head; a gesture that made her want to make all sorts of improper advances to him, but she fought off the urge. As Belle followed T'evgin as he showed her the way to the surface, he asked her many questions, which she answered completely without even thinking of deception, but everytime she asked a question in return, he sidestepped it neatly. When they got to the surface, he took his leave and went back into the mine, leaving her wondering how he could so completely enchant her into revealing everything she knew without telling her anything himself, but also hoping that they would meet again soon in a more relaxed environment.

Marcel Lestrange felt like he was in his bed while hiding himself in snow pile. Advantages of modern France which turned into a frozen tundra although Marcel remembered times when France was warm, usually sunny - at least in French Riviera - and full of wine and beautiful women. Maybe he was too young back then to enjoy those last two but that didn't meant that Marcel could not feel nostalgic about it. Especially when everything changed, including his social status - he became a slave for scrappers and that sick brain which lead them. But now things were different - he becomes master no matter how much it takes. Including hiding in snow and waiting Atticus's signal to start an action.
At least Lena is in that good doers ship and Marcel knew that they won't harm Lena. After all - Belle gave her word and like Lena told him, she kept it. "How honest an naive one human being can be?" asked Marcel from himself. And there was more of that kind. Especially his old competitor Volodja, who could be cunning and clever when they had to trick their enemies (or Marcel when he tried to outsmart Volodja), but when he gave his word then it was solid as a block of marble.
Attius didn't hurried. Guy seemed to like walking in his fancy armour and watch through his mask how their targets left their vehicle and approached slowly. And what vehicle that was - decorated with sculls. "Show off's!" was Marcel's short and sharp diagnosis. "No taste and no style. Even if they weren't hostile, Marcel would punish them for lack of good taste. Now he just had more reasons to do it.

"How low can one go?" wondered Volodja, looking Marcel through his binoculars. "Not low enough because I can still see him. Now it's better." Volodja's point of view was literally higher than Marcel's who was settled himself into a snow pile on his stomach, because he climbed to Pyotr's roof to observe the situation. He was alone up there. Sort of, if one considers his sniper rifle to count as a person. Volodja was not the kind who gives names to his tools. At least not to guns because naming something, meant for taking lives, was against Volodja's principles but he wasn't mind when other did it. It was matter of personal freedom. "Still nothing. Giant is waiting and Marcel is crawling," Volodja informed others via EGO to EGO link. "I spy with my eye an approaching vehicle, though. A driver and two, no, three passengers. One got up from the floor just now. Going to be a tough situation. I am ready to interfere if it becomes necessary." Volodja put away his binoculars and pressed the butt of his sniper rifle strongly against his shoulder. Better have his traditional moment of hesitation before accurate sniping - after he had to wound one of his friends with one to save his life, he never felt comfortable using sniper rifles any more, although it happened years ago - rather now, than too late. Done! He was ready to shoot but only, when it was absolutely unavoidable.

"Chief," replied Volodja. "Let's wait and see. I can go after Belle as well if needed. I have an advantage - my modified armour which is almost noiseless."
"Volodya, I'm not your Chief anymore, so I'm not the one giving you orders. Calling me Chief just adds to the confusion", Taffer answered through his EGO. "If you want my opinion on the matter, then here it is. When I was in charge, I've set a rule that no one goes alone in a dangerous environment. Because if someone does, something like this happens all the time. Someone disappears and everyone else doesn't have a slightest idea what happened and what to do with it. Someone else comes to investigate and disappears as well. People keep making this stupid mistake again and again. Now when Belle disappeared I'm as eager to go find her as you. But remember, she has her EGO and her Volge to protect her. People in here have neither. So I stay in here until either this conflict with Votans in that vehicle is resolved or people from here are evacuated. But as I said, I'm not your chief and I won't be shooting you in the back if you choose to go alone. Atticus may have his own opinion on that though."
"I've got an impulse which may signal of new EGO unit activation!", Em Dash warned, "I can't be sure if it's Lena's unit as it haven't come online yet and haven't sent any ID. But the location of the surge coincides with Lena's location."
"Got it, Dash. Inform me when her EGO comes online, I'd like to inform her on the situation before she does something unpredictable."
He scanned for other teammates' location, paying the most attention to Volodya and Erika. "Now let's see. Erika's outside at the door, Volodya is outside on the roof. They left our non-combatants alone with a psychotic girl who has her EGO just activated. How quaint."
He glanced around cameras for the last time making sure no danger is outside for now, then ran downstairs to the room where Lena Marr were lying on the cot. "Dash, set my EGO power to Decoy. She knows me enough to expect me using Cloak most of the time. And don't forget to set scan sweep to my Decoy as well"
"Erika, I think our young Lena is waking up", Taffer sent through his EGO, "I'm going to check up on her, so watch my vitals. If I go down, then rush in and shoot her without hesitation. We can't let her harm the doctor whatever she might try to do."
"Hello Lena", he said entering her room, "I've just detected you EGO unit started working. Yeah, probably the only downside of having this implant — almost every move of its owner can be traced by those who have it as well. I don't know if the unit will present itself to you when it's ready to, or something should trigger it, Pyotr should know for sure. For now, we have some visitors again, but not of such friendly kind as you or us. So our team including Marcel are out to intercept them to ensure people in here are safe, including you. I think Pyotr would like to examine you to ensure everything is fine with you and your new implant, but depending on the situation we might need to move to our ship first to ensure safety. I really hope there won't be any incidents with you while we're waiting for the update from our strike team."

As Taffer spoke, Lena Marr's EGO came online, and a measured feminine voice spoke in Lena's mind that she had not heard before; different in tone than the voices normally quarreling there, those representing the seven deadly sins and Hope, saying, "I am EGO. All EGO powers and their associated perks are now available. Would you like me to start the turorial?"
"Blah, blah, and blah!" Lena suddenly blurted out loud, making Taffer wonder if she was speaking to him until she blurred out of the room and then back in, saying enthusiastically, "We don't need no stinking tutorial! This is fucking great!"
Lena's right hand instinctively went to her bosom, checking if her switchblade was there; something she always did for reassurance. A look of horror crossed her pretty Castithan face as she realized her switchblade was gone, then it twisted into one of Anger as she remembered what happened to it.
"The bitch took it! Marcel gave me that as a token of our love!" Screamed Lena, having her EGO make a quick radar check of the building and not finding Belle Starr there or in the compound as a whole.
Anger's voice took over her EGO's saying through the telepathic link they now shared, "Lets go beat her to death and take it off her dead body!"
Lena yelled over her chalk white shoulder as she blurred out of the front door grabbing Taffer's charge blade off his belt as she passed by, then bowling over Erika Widowmaker who was blocking it, and out of the compound, "I've got a better idea! We're going slice and dice Belle Starr - maybe several times!"

Hearing all of the team's findings and issues, I respond to all with, "I am afraid Belle will have to wait. Our first priority is to save those here."
I then send Marcel a private EGO message as the vehicle approaches. "Marcel, the vehicle is full of armed soldiers. Sorry about the deception in the compound, but the no kill order was for their benefit. Now that we are here without the softies, orders have changed. We do NOT take these guys alive, letting them live could bite us later. So KILL every armed and hostile soldier that exits that vehicle, in any way that you want. And remember their boss is known for his extreme hatred of humans. They may feel the same so try to kill them before they realize what hit them. Just make sure the vehicle is intact for our use. Their belongings are ours to do with as we see fit. To the victors go the spoils."
I then send Volo a private EGO message as well. "Fool I see you up there with your sniper. Obviously you have already predicted Marcel's and my actions if you are watching our backs. Prepare for a battle out here, and cover your scope, I noticed the sun reflect off your scope and am sure Lestrange noticed as well, if he really is as good as you say, he seems to me, or he believes himself to be. However I doubt the garbage in the approaching truck noticed yet. Let us keep it that way. Don't worry I know your dislike of killing. So only take a shot if you are certain that it is needed to protect myself or Lestrange."
As I finish my EGO message the truck stops in front of me and the driver and the other two visible passengers get out and approach me. The Driver says, "I recognize you! You are the Harbinger of Death! What are you doing guarding this place?!"
I am standing there with one hand behind my back as I say, "Not guarding. I am taking and you are in the way so you die. Then I take your things as well." I then quickly pull the throwing knife out of the back of my belt and throw it into the throat of the driver. As he hits the ground gasping for his last breath, I grab one of the other two, and his buddy fires at me and hits my organic shield, lowering the currently visible enemies to one. Before I have a chance to take down guy three, a sniper round from Volodja takes him down. As I drop the body in my hands, the back of the truck opens up and a 6 man squad starts to approach. However as I turn towards them, it becomes a 5 man squad, for Marcel came out of hiding and sliced the throat of the last guy. With Marcel taking them from behind and me from the front, these weaklings don't stand a chance. Especially since Volodja is ready with a sniper to take out the stragglers, but only if he finds it nesseccary in order to protect the two-man hit squad, Marcel Lestrange and myself, that he is watching.

Lena Marr came blurring out of the compound wearing only her 7th legion outfit and flourishing a charge blade straight past Atticus and at the enemy truck, cutting and slicing parts off the Votan Collective soldiers who exited the back as she went, yelling angrily...
"WHERE..." The arm of Votan soldier fell to the ground, still firing reflexively the assault rifle it held as pink blood spurted out of the wound as the man quickly bled to death in the snow.
"IS..." One whole man became two halves each falling to a side of Lena as she passed, the legs to one side, the torso and the rocket launcher on his shoulder to the other, like the parting of the Red Sea.
"BELLE..." Lena took the charge blade in both hands, using it like an axe and striking down on a soldiers head, cleaving his skull in two as his brains made a frying sound on the blade as his detonator fell from his senseless fingers.
"STARR..." Lena backhanded with her sword a soldier trying to back shoot her with a VOT blaster, his head rolling down a snow drift, leaving a trail of pink as it went.
Lena was panting from the effort, leaning over with one hand on her knee while she waved the charge blade around with the other making small circles in the frigid air, saying in a frank tone to Atticus, "I really, really, DO want to know!"

"Sorry, Taffer," replied Volodja. "Old habit, you know. Besides - I wouldn't be me if I don't try to call people by nicknames I give them. Anyway - I am trying to avoid another old habit to kick in and start my search and rescue operation after we have handled the situation here. I am used with solo operations. Have to cut our conversation because things are getting interesting here." Volodja adjusted his position and covered lens of his telescopic sight after receiving a friendly warning from Atticus. He was right - sniper should NEVER give away his position. Staying in cover is his main advantage on the battlefield. And the battle on this particular field was about to begin. Atticus gave a signal by throng a knife into driver's throat and when guy fell to the ground, colouring it ping with his blood, Atticus started to take out others. Except the last one, because Volodja registered slight change in his shield and liquidated the last guy with one well aimed shot, before he could shoot at Atticus. Vehicle let out six more Votans who tried to affect events in their own violent way, but before Volodja could shoot any of them, Narcel Lestrange appeared from nowhere and took down the last guy in line by cutting his throat without anybody noticing it - except Volodja and Atticus. Rest of guys were destined to end up dead as well, but in most unexpected way. Suddenly there was whirl of a sword blade and few screams and after mini tornado had passed, Volodja could see pieces of four attackers on the bloody snow and Lena Marr among those pieces, still playing with a charge blade. Last Voitan standing fell to the ground as well, because Marcel Lestrange passed by and ended his Hamlet moment - "To shoot or not to shoot" - with a single strike of his knife. Three of them were standing there and staring at each other, but as always narrative rules hit in, making things even more confusing. Two snowmobiles appeared to the sight. Somehow there will be always some ATV-s or snow mobiles accompanying a bigger car when one have to fight on the snow. Maybe it's because they create wonderful special effects when taken down. At least it was logical assumption and Volodja had to try it out when he pointed his rifle to nearest one, took down it's driver and watched, how snowmobile crashed to the ground and rose cloud of snow when driver's falling body pulled it out from balance. Marcel took out another driver in his own way and started to speak with the guy. And did it also in his own way.

Marcel Lestrange spotted Volodja on the roof top because of reflection of sunlight on his telescopic sight lens and thought: "Volodja always gets the best seat. While I am freezing my balls of, he enjoys a great view and makes couple of effective shots. He might be reluctant to shoot first and he sure feels guilt afterwards, but between "before" and "after" he fights like a young god. Enough of that! I will get MY moments here even if it costs some lives. Actually it WILL cost some lives."
First life, Marcel ended, was soldier's who jumped out from the car a bit later than others and didn't made a single shot or sound because Marcel jumped up from his snowy bed and putting his left hand to soldiers mouth, cut his throat from ear to ear and pushed his body forward to avoid staining himself with blood. Then he just watched how Lena mutilated four men in a row, trying to find out where is Belle Starr. "Why she wanted to know that?" asked Marcel from himself, but before guessing there was another thing (of course Marcel called it a thing, because corpses tend to lose personalities and become things) to handle. Last soldier was confused because of Lena and Marcel had no problem stabbing him in most elegant manner.
Faint sound of motors caught his ears when he looked at his girlfriend Lena and Atticus confronting each other. He turned quickly around and saw two motorized sledges approaching. First driver startled on his seat and fell down, pulling his sledge with him. Other driver started to turn his vehicle around after seeing what happened with rest of his platoon but he didn't made very far, because Marcel run after him, jumped to the sledge and pulled the driver along when he fell into soft snow.
At least one POW was taken in this battle but not because Marcel felt sorry for the guy. Quite opposite, because his opened conversation with a knife cut, removing prisoner's ear.
"Hold still! Hold still, you fuck!," he ordered during that cosmetic operation. Then he continued with a question: "Was that as good for you as it was for me?" and spoke to removed ear when he didn't received any answer from the previous owner of this particular item: "Hey what's goin' on? Can you hear that?" Still no answer. Marcel turned his cold eyes towards the prisoners and continued with cold and unemotional tone:
"Enough of the movie talk anyway. As you can see, I didn't came here to fool around. You better start to talk about everything you know. Why you are here? And do you have any information about some hooded guy who works for governor Skarr? When you talk then you have a chance to preserve rest of your body parts and your life."
Marcel knew that interrogator should always leave some hope for the tortured. If he declares final result - death penalty right away, then interrogation becomes useless. Guy knows that he will be dead anyway and refuses to talk, but seeing a possible way out he might loosen his tongue. That's why he continued:
"You know, mon ami, that if I had time then I would prolong our conversation for days. It would be really interesting for both of us to keep you alive and play with some nice tools. I can do both. I learned it in some special schools as a part of my training. Unfortunately we do not have that amount of spare time. What just happened with you will be only a beginning and if I pass you on to someone else's hands, then you will consider me to be a really nice guy when you look back at our time together. Between us, men, or at least one man and one soon to become a castrate, I will reveal a little secret. You see that beautiful Castithan girl there? The one with a sword. I would do anything to see her smiling and dismantling you piece by piece will be a sure thing to bring smile to her pretty face. She knows a lot about causing pain. I think that I will let her play with you now. Lena-darling! Can you come over here? We have a guy who refuses to speak."

First momentary thing Taffer did when Lena blurred out was checking Erika's vitals, second one was checking non-EGO people's location. He went to the door to the room Pyotr was located in and pulled it open.
"Congratulations Pyotr, if the point of your latest experiment was to convert a mentally unstable girl into a mentally unstable EGO-wielding fiend, you've definitely succeeded. Should I even ask if there's a killswitch in that EGO unit? I think I already know the answer as VBI has its new policy of not having it as a mandatory service. Anyway, she kept her creator alive, so that's a good news. Bad news is she's likely on her killing spree now but that's our part of the deal to handle I think".
"Atticus, Pyotr and Stephanie are fine", he sent to everyone's EGO, "Lena rushed out with my charge blade to find Belle Starr, claiming she took something important from her. Anyone who find Belle or establish a connection with her, please inform her of that immediately. Lena's EGO seems fully functional with all the perks on. Consider her extremely dangerous."

Volodja Uljanov observed Marcel's actions and felt helpless. Before he reaches to them Marcel has his way with that POW. Words won't help here, because Marcel just ignores them. He also knew that Marcel didn't enjoyed torturing. It was part of his job - an efficient method to get information he needed, because Marcel was a result oriented guy who didn't hesitate using any measures to reach his purposes. Volodja was not sure what could be worse - to torture and enjoy it or do it without any emotions. At moment speed is essential (so prisoner could not have any time to recover and change his mind if he decides to talk) and that's why Marcel is going to be especially ruthless. He wants to achieve so called "moment of truth" (момент истины, as it was sometimes called in SMERSH during WW2) when guy breaks and starts to tell the truth without hiding anything. Volodja knew that either mental or physical torturing of freshly caught prey was classical work method of counter intelligence. Next thing Volodja knew, that POW is one hundred percent goner. Even if Marcel won't kill him right away, he will bleed to death or freeze to death. No chance that Marcel lets him live. After prisoner tells them everything or keeps quiet to the end, Marcel won't need him any more and tosses him aside like an used paper napkin.
Volodja hated himself for that thing he was about to do. He was going to give the coup de grâce from his sniper rifle when needed. Another blood stain on his not so shiny armour, but sometimes killing can be sign of mercy, as Volodja knew. And this was the case. Even if their prisoner was a scum of the Galaxy, he didn't deserved slow and painful death. It better be quick and painless. That's why Volodja didn't left the rooftop yet. Another grim task was waiting for him, unless things go differently. Another, maybe a bit more joyful might be talking to Lena who got lose and had murder in her mind. Volodja already had something to say to her. Or at least to Marcel, Lena's partner.

As Lena yells at me, I retrieve my throwing knife from the driver's throat and wipe it clean on him. Then I place it back where it belongs. I also watch Marcel's interrogation for a few seconds, as I do LOVE a good interrogation. After a little while I say to the prisoner, "He means Aveis Havph, and while you are having such a pleasant conversation, Governor Skarr's location would be good to know as well." I then turn my back partially to Marcel and give Lena my attention for the most part, while keeping my area awareness.
"Lena, I am afraid I do not know what happened to Belle. However if she is still alive, then she will regroup and join us soon enough. So whatever she has of yours, we can get back at that time. However all I know of that she has of yours is...ah the knife. Must have a lot of significance to you. Do not worry, you will get it back. However while you are on our ship, all of your weapons will be in my custody. Not that it matters, since you are both quite skilled without weapons, but it does give the more sensitive people onboard the delusion of safety. Anyway as I said, we do not know her location, so we must hope she returns soon and if she doesn't then we will search for her as soon as we have a chance. By the way, thank you for your assistance here, even if it was unintentional."
As Lena and I have our conversation, I hear the usual sounds of efficient information gathering, and the guy starts talking. "The Governor's location is no big secret. He is heading to Lima as we speak. However I don't know why!" I hear more noise behind my back as I talk to Lena, then hear him say,"Aveis Havph?! He heard that your big friend in black over there was coming for him with murderous rage on his mind!! So he hightailed it to Key Diego! I can't blame him!! The Harbinger of Death is not somebody you want after you! He even scares me and I work for the murderous Beast!!!!"
I turn around and say, "Really, do the Tarrs know?" The guy glares at me and spits at Marcel's feet and then mine, as he says, "Why the fuck would the Tarrs need to know?! He doesn't work for that two-bit organization! He works for...wait I can't tell you that! The House would kill me, and if they didn't then the Beast would for being taken prisoner! So I am dead no matter what!!! So you get no more information out of me, no matter what! So you, the human lapdog and his enyasho chango (Castithan for thug bitch {hopefully I got it grammatically correct}) can go fuck yourselves on a landmine!!!"
Knowing exactly what I just heard, and that the Tarr's would pay well for such information, I say, "I doubt my friends and especially the young woman appreciate that insulting language very much.... Anyway, so what you're saying is that one of Datak Tarr's lieutenants not only works for Governor Skarr, but works for one of the criminal organizations,.....I mean Great Trading Houses, in Key Diego as well, and went to them for protection instead of the Tarrs or the Governor? So the Tarr's mole was the one lieutenant that they let live. Very interesting information. I would guess Datak would love to learn that, even if it isn't worth as much without knowing which Great Trading House, Havph was a spy for."
I then look at Marcel. "Well I know all that I need and he is your prisoner, so do with him and the information what you want. The information about Aveis Havph's enterprising schemes are of no concern to me. Consider it a thank you for helping out here. Besides all I care about concerning them, are Havph's and Skarr's deaths. As long as they come soon, I do not care if it is by my hands or the Tarrs'. Just as long as they die slowly and very painfully, and I am informed of it. Besides I prefer to hunt prey that is worthy of the hunt, which Havph is not. It also appears that we just inherited two snowmobiles to go with the truck."
I then send Taffer an EGO to EGO message. "Taffer, Marcel and I just lucked out and stumbled onto the information I was looking for. That's the good news. The bad news is that Governor Skarr is personally heading to Lima to find Erika's son-in-law and Grandchildren. Do what you can to warn your contact there and get them into our protective hands as soon as possible! And Taffer, any advice on how to tell Erika would be appreciated. For some reason, I am not sure my usual tactless and blunt way of handling things, is the right way this time, just that I should be the one to tell her as, her brother and, according to her, the Patriarch of her family. However I am still learning all of these social rules, so what do I know? Besides you know her a lot more than I do, so any advice would be helpful."

"About Lena," said Volodja through their EGO channel. "Would you be so kind and remind her that Belle is the guarantee of their safety, because she gave her word to Marcel that Lena and him will be unharmed. When I offered mine then that proposal faded into a fruitless discussion, so Belle is their only hope to stay alive in our company. No Belle - no safety for them. I think that should help a bit."
Volodja tossed his two cents into the pile. Maybe Lena will listen reason. Maybe at least Marcel will listen, because he valued his life highly and now he had two lives to worry about and something told Volodja that Marcel was not mind guarding Lena's at any cost. Even at cost his personal safety. According to his actions he was head over heels in love with Lena. Amazing what Cupid could do when he has some spare time to hunt guys like Marcel.

"I'm fine, although my pride is a bit bruised. Lena just took me unawares when she blurred out of here," Erika Widowmaker reported via her EGO as she got up and dusted herself off before she retrieved her Piper assault rifle. "I'm going to gather our noncombatants and get them to the Vigilant." "Mama, you got to be more careful and take it easy. This job of shrinking your brain tumor is hard enough," Admonished Amber, Erika's EGO psyche. As if on cue, Lady Christianna chimed in through her EGO's communications, "Vigilant ready." Erika went to Stephanie's room and gathered her and her numerous bags, noticing Stephanie clutching a multicolored ceramic frog, obviously the prize of her collection of ceramic frogs. Erika raised a purple eyebrow, saying, "I thought I said essentials only." Stephanie opened wide her brown eyes looking much like a doe in the headlights of a car, her pretty very human face a sharp contrast to her robotic body, as she pleaded, "It makes me smile, and Pyotr bought it for me on our honeymoon in Mexico." Erika merely nodded her head, choosing not to say anything but just let the cyborg bring the silly looking piece of clay even though no rational person would ever consider such a thing an essential to bring. However, Erika realized that for a refugee, sometimes a memento is more of an essential that food and water, so she merely picked up a duffel bag and Stephanie's carry-on bag and headed back to the front door. "Taffer, if you will please bring the dream machine, Pyotr, and any specialized equipment Pyotr may need for either our operation or Stephanie's cyborg maintenance and meet me at the front door, then we can leave before The Beast sends anymore soldiers?" Asked Erika.

Lena Marr got her breath back and noticed Marcel for the first time since her attack ended, her long lashed sky blue eyes brightening as she grinned lovingly, hurrying to his side and giving him a big kiss, then saying, "Hello my Love! Belle took the switchblade YOU gave me, so now I've got to kill her! Not time for torture fun! I know YOU understand!"
"Oh, just kill them all!" Said Anger through her EGO, but her voice was diminishing as her anger faded, "Or not..." Added Hope, as she took control of the EGO psyche.
Then the Votan Collective prisoner called Lena an "enyasho chango," an she turned to him with a cold unblinking stare and her grin turned ugly, as Pride took over and with a quick of flick of her wrist, the charge blade cut off the soldier' nose clean off his face, cauterizing the wound as she did, saying wryly, "Oh look! I just cut off your nose to spite your face. Now just shut the fuck up dead meat, I'm having a conversation with my lover."
"About Lena," said Volodja through EGO channel. I think that should help a bit"
Lena's lush lips formed a pretty pout as her sky blue eyes narrowed and focused on Volodja's sniper position, stomping her foot once and saying, "I HEARD that, and I don't care! Belle took my switchblade! Marcel gave me that as a token of our love, so naturally, Belle's got to die! Why can't you people understand that? I know Marcel does, and I'm pretty sure Atticus understands as well! Somebody takes what's yours and they pay - and if it's something important what they take, they pay with their life! Right? Right!"
