Kabule was behind the scenes in the area of the Big top curtained off to block view of his bike and cage until it was time to reveal them for the final act of the night. As he was preparing the exciting new element that he was adding to his cage of doom, he heard somebody run by shouting: "Stop that woman!"
So as he peeked out to see what all the commotion was, he saw Sophie with a handful of burning torches run past his location, followed not far behind by an angry woman wielding a broken booze bottle. So as the angry woman started past his location, he reached out and grabbed the back of the neck and pulled her behind his curtain before any of the audience could notice her.
As she was pulled behind the curtain, she screeched in surprise. Then she turned and swung that bottle at Kabule. However the very seasoned war vet; come biker thug, come daredevil; merely raised his free arm and knocked the bottle from her hand as it made contact with his biker leathers. As she stumbled back in shock at the easy manhandling this mean looking Russian was giving her, she also wrestled to get out of his grip. Kabule simply pushed her back and replied, "Knock it off or I WILL give you the punishment that such a bad doll deserves!"
That stopped her in her tracks as two carnies came in to act as security and find out what the exact issue was. So Kabule took that moment to once again grab Invidia roughly. Then he pushed her into the arms of the carnies, saying, "You better be here for her as I have an act to continue preparing for and an assistant to find! So do your job and take her out of here while you find out just why she is attacking people with booze bottles!"
The carnies jumped at Kabule's sharp and angry tone, but quickly took Invidia out of his stunt arena. Just as they walked out with Invidia presumably to figure out what her issue is, Kabule's errant assistant of the night, Officer Ira (who had been off making some finishing touches to his female clown disguise) finally walked back into Kabule's curtained-off arena as he grumbled, "What I just miss Russian?"
Kabule simply replied with, "Apparently a rabid circus critic. Now we better go over what yer job as my assistant will be so it is believable as we don' wan' you blowin your cover, til yer murderer is caught and no matter what jus' remember that the Hope-clown is MY doll. So keep yer filthy paws off 'er or it be the last thing you ever be regrettin. So if you mus' paw somethin, you can always go play with and paw the g'rilla until ya can find yer own doll, unless you prefer to be the g'rilla's doll."

Sophie announced in the big top, "Ladies and gennnntlemen! Welcome to our humble circusssss! It's a honour and privilege to be here in front of you in this beautiful morning! I am the Ringmaster for today and I hope that the show we have to offer you is going to be as hot as these torches in my hands!" Hope the cute but diminutive clown finished her latest balloon animal creation giving it to the thrilled birthday girl Lexy then left the bleachers as the lights went out and a few spotlights focused on Sophie the new Ringmaster. Hope exited the main ring taking refuge behind Gorgo's cage. With Hope's appearance before him, the huge gorilla stopped it's tirade against the cage's bars looking intently and intelligently at Hope. Hope tilted her her small head as if listening to some unheard voice then a smile crossed her white-face painted visage making her already exaggerated smile grow to Cheshire Cat dimensions before saying in a whisper, "As you wish master. Your will be done!" Hope made her way stealthily to the back of the Big Top where the the Amazing Synders were preparing to be the first high wire act to perform. As Whitney stood on a plank placed over a barrel, her brother did a somersault before jumping on it propelling her to the shoulders of her oldest brother. As they warmed up before their act, Hope climbed to the top of the high wire hidden by the darkness of the Big Top where both light and attention was all on the Ringmaster. There was no safety net below for the Synder family were practiced circus performers and knew the Rubes preferred it when there was a chance that the performer might die no matter how slim. Hope reached out as far as her short arms would let her sawing halfway through the tightrope so that once Whitney began her act the rope would break and she would plummet to her death far below. Once the deed was done, Hope shimmed back down and hid in the shadows waiting for the Ringmaster to announce the Synder family's act and then the ensuing disaster that would befall the soon-to-be-late Whitney Synder.

Dinara and Kakusi watched Sophie introduce herself, and then do her impromptu torch juggling act. Once Sophie had finished, she announced the Amazing Synders and their high wire act. So as soon as Sophie was out of the spotlight for now and all attention on the high-wire, Dinara and Kakusi walked over to Sophie. Then Dinara started to quietly but very animatedly and sadly inform Sophie of everything that had happened and that she was certain that Amber had whispered and then partially written Gorgo the Gorilla's name down as she died. So Dinara didn't know how but was certain the gorilla was somehow involved in everything that was happening.
As Dinara was filling in Sophie, Kakusi silently watched the beginning high-wire act as he was more interested in the acts than he was with talking to people when he felt that he didn't need to. When the rope suddenly snapped all eyes were on Whitney, with most watching in shock and horror. Kakusi on the other hand quickly moved forward on his very long legs instinctively while still looking up at Whitney. Then as soon as he was where he thought he needed to be, he stretched his huge arms out in front of him and readied to squat slightly at just the right moment to help distribute the incoming weight and momentum. To everyone's amazement (including Kakusi's, although he didn't show his surprise that his sudden action actually worked or his pain from the sudden strain in his body from his stupid but heroic rescue stunt), Whitney landed in his arms and quickly wrapped her arms around his neck to make sure she really was safe and didn't hit the ground with a splat. Sure she would be in a lot of pain once the adrenaline rush had worn off. However at least she was still alive thanks to Kakusi's quick action. After all landing hard in the 12 foot tall giant's arms may have hurt, but they did have a LOT more give than the unforgiving ground would have. Especially given the height at which Whitney fell.
Then before anybody realized exactly what had truly happened, Kakusi whispered something in Whitney's ear. Then he set Whitney on her feet. Once she was standing, she did as Kakusi had whispered to her. She curtsied as Kakusi bowed. Then as they walked out of the center ring, Whitney gestured at her family to continue the act. Catching on quick, Sophie stepped back into the ring long enough to say, "Ladies and gentleman please give applause for The Amazing Whitney Synder and her assistant of the night! The Great Kakusi, Electric Giant extraordinaire! If you want to see more of him after our Big Top performances, then you can find him performing his electric feats of wonder in Sideshow Row! Now please continue to enjoy the talents of Whitney's brothers as they continue to soar through the air!"
As Sophie had introduced Whitney and Kakusi as if it was actually just an amazing surprise act, Kakusi picked Whitney back up and she calmly wrapped her arms around him as if his carrying her out of center stage was just part of the routine. Once they were back to the side where Sophie would be returning to, Kakusi gently set Whitney down on the ground, then knelt to ask if she was alright while they waited for Sophie to return to them so she could figure out exactly what mysterious forces were trying to destroy the circus and it's performers. That is, once she was done giving her impromptu spiel that was to convince the audience that it was just an unannounced but exciting addition to the special morning performance.
In the meantime Dinara figured she may need to perform earlier than expected given all the unexpected twists and turns of the morning. However her new outfit was now covered in blood and her trailer pretty much a loss. So she slipped into the costume trailer and found one of her old dance costumes that still fit. Then once re-dressed she returned to the Big top and stopped by the Circus band to quietly tell them she decided to change things up and filled them in on the songs she would now be requiring from them. Afterwards she returned to where Whitney and Kakusi were and signaled to Sophie that she was ready to do a couple of her dance routines as soon as the Synder brothers were done, if needed. Then Dinara whispered something to Kakusi, which he acknowledged. Then when a couple carnies came to help check on Whitney and he was certain she would be alright in his absence, Kakusi stood and left the Big Top. As he walked out, he asked a couple of the hands to follow and help him.
So after the Synder brothers had finished their routine, Sophie announced Dinara the Acro-dancer just as Kakusi and his helpers returned. While they started setting up a couple things Kakusi had them bring in in crates, Dinara walked to the center stage beside Sophie and then Dinara announced to the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen I I will not be performing my usual routines. Instead I will be performing two new ones, In honor of my friend and lover, who unfortunately is no longer with us! Amber the best Mystic this Circus ever had the privilege of working with! So the first will be an Ottoman song of the sadness of a lost love; and as Amber would want me to continue on, the second will be about the healing of a forever damaged soul! And just as Whitney was before me, I will also be assisted by the Great Kakusi! However this time he will be showing his skill at electrical manipulation to go with my dances, instead of playing high-wire net!"
As she finished saying that, Kakusi signaled that he was ready for what she had planned. So Dinara asked Sophie to have the lights dimmed. Then Dinara signaled the band to play the first new song. Once the sad song began, Dinara started to just go with the flow of the music, as with Amber's death, Dinara had thrown all her planned performances for this special show out the proverbial window, and instead was just going where the songs she requested took her. It didn't take Dinara long to find her flow and start translating all the sadness and love from the song and her own life with Amber into her dance that she was performing as a tribute to her lost love. As the first song ended, the band immediately transitioned into the second song with Dinara's dance movements slowly transitioning with the changes between the two songs' tempos and slight but noticeable emotional shifts. In the meantime, as the first song began, Kakusi activated the two tesla coils that he had just set up. Then he began to give the audience an amazing lighting show to accompany Dinara's dance routines, with Kakusi standing between the coils and moving his arms as he acted as the conductor, to get the electricity to dance along with Dinara and the songs.

Belle Starr's blue diamond eyes fluttered as she regained consciousness laying on the floor of the landing bay of the Vigilant. She looked up to the concerned faces of Commander Sandra Bell, Medic Joy Jameson, and the Constantine twins before attempting to sit up only to discover she was the victim of a the worst migraine headache she had ever had in her considerable lifetime. "Lay back down. You had quite a spill Ms. Starr," Advised Medic Jameson with a stern look. "No - no, I'm okay, " Answered Belle as she defied gravity and a swimming head by standing up albeit shakily taking Sandy's proffered arm to steady herself then staring intently into Sandy's blue eyes stating, "He's here! Atlas is here! In our universe! On Pluto!" The corners of Sandy's thin lips turned down into a grim frown as she ordered between clenched teeth, "Time to get to Pluto then! Time seems to be of the essence. Belle finish your modifications to our engine. Take Attila to get it done in the next hour. Atika get to work on that radar array to trace the strange beam leading to Lady's noggin. If we have to we can finish that task on the way to Pluto. The supplies for the mission are loaded on the Riot and we are ready to go so if you need any additional equipment it's now or never. Jameson, you're with us as we may need a medic so check our med supplies to see that you have all you need. Get a move on people!" Then she got on the Vigilant's com and announced, "All those chosen for the away team report to the Riot with their personal gear immediately or have a really good reason why not! ETD is in one hour!" Hearing Sandy's announcement, Lena Marr turned to Marcel Lestrange and asked, "We're on that list sooooo... are we going into space or not? I was kind of looking forward to it but it wouldn't be the same without you Pooh Bear."

Marcel's face was one huge grin when he announced: "We will go to that space odyssey and I believe that it will be not as boring as that 2001 one. But we are not going alone. You heard that Paradise Protectors! Wolfram von Eschen is going with us as my personal counsellor." Marcel had a reason to grin. They finally succeeded to break Wolfram von Eschen's concrete bunker walls. That breakthrough was a fine sample of teamwork because Lena and Marcel surrounded old psychiatrist like couple of street missionaries and kept talking and talking and talking. When Marcel stopped and had a cigarette break then Lena took over and kept Wolfram occupied sticking her open cleavage almost into Wolfram's face to break his defences more than one way. When she had to catch her breath then Marcel continued and shelled Wolfram's hard shell with arguments and tempting perspectives of having an EGO psyche and overruled Wolfram's arguments like being "too old for this shit" by saying that Wolfram was a prehistoric relic anyway and if he survived the human civilisation then having an EGO chip is a piece of Clafoutis. And now Wolfram reluctantly rose the white flag - the conventional sign of capitulation - and agreed to let the EGO chip to be installed and provided with necessary software. And something else as well... "I have sudden need of services of an experienced psychiatrist," Marcel explained. "In America was a trend according to which you were nobody if you did not had a psychiatrist. And I want to be trendy and hip and so on and hired Wolfram for that task. And do not tell me that Wolfram might be too old to fly. It is ageism! You do not want to be ageist, do you, and forbid an old man to fly? Have you slightest idea how old that John Glenn guy was when he had his second space trip? Well, I do not know either but he was an ancient fart and yet he was allowed to fly. Age does not mean a thing and as you said - Wolfram can fulfil his tasks on the way to Pluto. And his brand new EGO has plenty of times to deal with post operational recovery among other things."

Post by Sandy Bell on Dec 31, 2017 15:44:19 GMT
Once Marcel Lestrange announced his intention to bring the frail elderly psychiatrist on their space mission, Commander Sandy Bell's knee-jerk reaction was to answer "Hell no!" but on quick reflection changed her mind and replied so all the away team could hear, "Okay Mr. Lestrange, but only if he agrees and you are willing to be responsible for him. As to the rest of you, this is a volunteer mission as it may very well be a one-way trip. Know that each of you who were on my list play an integral part in the mission's success, but I won't - no one will - fault you if you choose not to go. If you choose to go, please meet me with the rest of the team at the Riot in the Vigilant's hangar in an hour. That is all!"
Sandy had some qualms about allowing Wolfram to accompany them on what if not a suicide mission would still be a very difficult one. Sandy knew that many if not all of those she hand-picked for it wouldn't be coming back unless in a body bag. She hoped she didn't just lay a guilt trip on her team to "convince" them to go, but knew she was telling the truth that each and everyone of them was needed for mission success. Despite his great age and his bad health (in her estimation) caused by a lifetime of heavy drinking, now even Wolfram was a necessary asset in their quest!
The reason for Sandy's re-estimation of what was needed for the mission was the reaffirmation of the facts that: (1) Belle Starr had to come for her expertise on Atlas - especially now that Sandy's belief that Belle had a strange connection with this Alien AI/God was validated by Belle's fainting at the precise instant when Atlas personally entered the Protectors' solar system; and (2) since Belle's return home, her psyche was frailer than Wolfram's health and ailing minds was Dr. Von Eschen's bailiwick so refer back to fact one!
Sandy reported her decisions and reasoning back to Atticus Batman and her husband, Volodja Uljanov, which brought her to her personal goal of saving Volodja's life as she concluded her report with a recommendation by calmly saying, "Finally, I believe Volodja should command the overall Pluto mission from the bridge of the Vigilant. Commander Batman, I know that it is necessary for you to quite appropriately stay close to your wife right now so we need a commanding officer on the Bridge and I'm competent to lead the away team by myself and will follow his orders to a T."
What Sandy didn't say was that she wanted Volodja safe and sound so her mind would be be much more focused on her task because she then wouldn't be worried about his immediate survival.
Lena Marr on the other hand turned to her lover Marcel Lestrange asking, "One-way trip?!?! Did our fearless leader just say this was a one-way trip? Not sure I like that!"

"I do not like that either," said Marcel. "And that is why I will have to bring Volodja along to the trip. His plan, he has to execute it. And knowing him, he will agree with that because he feels responsible. That old fashioned nobility is very useful...to us! Not to mention the fact that Volodja is a natural survivor, no matter how much he is willing to risk with his own life." Meanwhile Wolfram von Eschen was kindly asked to count numbers while his anaesthetics were spreading through his old body. "Eins" "Zwei" "Polizei" Next thing Wolfram remembered was opening his eyes and feeling slight ache back of his neck. He rose his face and looked around. Medical crew and EGO specialist Pyotr Yershov were surrounding the table and examined him. "He is tough one," said one of them. "Good material. Vital. Should be back on his feet in no time. The rest is up to him and his EGO, though." "Where is my cane?" asked Wolfram von Eschen. "Well, Mein Freund," said a new voice. "I checked your physical parameters. They are fine indeed. But the mental part is what we should discuss. That cane, for example. It's quite phallic isn't it? And you are perfectly fine without it so I would like to tell why you need it."Wolfram looked at the owner of that new voice. An elderly man with well trimmed beard and a cigar in his hand, wearing three piece old fashioned suit looked back at him and grinned. Wolfram von Eschen snapped to the newcomer: "There are lot of vulgar Freudians who would make a remark of that kind! But I didn't expected something like that from you...!" Then he realised whom he was talking to and moaned: "From all possible EGO-s in the world it has to be you, Sigmund!""Jawohl. It is me, your new sentient EGO psyche. I think that it's a beginning of quite an interesting relationship. Happy new year to you!"

A grimace of hate and anger crossed Hope's cute clown face as she clenched her little hands so tight that her fingernails drew blood from her palms as her small fists trembled in her rage while she muttered to herself, "The Master is going to be sooooo mad at me for not delivering his lovely sacrifice!" Hope paced back and forth in the shadows of the Big Top trying to figure out what she needed to do to get back in the good graces of the "Hooded Man" who was her Master and who was neither hooded nor man at the moment. She had no delusions that if she did not remedy the mistake of losing him his virgin sacrifice he would then take Hope herself in Whitney's stead. Hope stopped to listen to the sad Turkish music and watched fascinated for a moment as Dinara danced and Kakuski performed his accompanying impromptu light show. Hope wondered to herself if Dinara could be the virgin sacrifice in Whitney's stead but doubted it. Dinara had been in a long-term lesbian relationship with the now deceased mystic Amber and although had probably never had conventional sex would still be hard put to be called a virgin or at least thought Hope. Hope's empty blue eyes were drawn to Sophie the new Ringmaster as she loudly and dramatically announced the next circus act. Hope only briefly wondered if Sophie was a virgin but then quickly dismissed the idea for Sophie was in her twenties which Hope reasoned was pretty old to be a virgin and she was French a nationality know for its sexual proclivity so another reason it was unlikely that Sophie was the requisite virgin. Hope's unblinking eyes searched the Big Top looking for likely virgins but to her growing despair found none. She had pretty much reconciled herself to the fact that she would have to climb to the top of the Big Top again throwing herself from the roof to land on the top of the giant ape's cage decorated with iron spears thus impaling herself as a virgin sacrifice to her Master when she spotted in the bleachers a prime candidate to be the human oblation in her stead. Nestled between her parents was a laughing eight year old Lexy delighted with each act the circus had to offer and totally unaware that she was in any danger whatsoever - the perfect victim! Definitely a virgin whose death would surely please the Master! Hope's evil grin turned briefly into a frown for she genuinely liked Lexy although more than a little jealous that Lexy was having a normal happy childhood cocooned from the dire conditions of a world crawling out of a World War whereas Hope was struggling to survive without parents and direction - at least until her Master took her under his demonic wing. Hope's regret was short-lived however as Hope was in survival mode reasoning that it was either Lexy or her who would survive for another day and Hope was betting on herself. Hope looked around for the means of Lexy's demise then spotted a method worthy to be a Rube Goldberg machine. Lexy was directly under one of the heavy candle lit glass chandeliers at the top of the Big Top giving light to the circus acts below. If Hope could sever one of the wooden back supports to the huge Big Top tent that chandelier would fall crushing little Lexy and anyone who beheld it would have to think it an accident. If perchance Lexy survived, Hope could finish the job in the confusion after the accident with one of Kabule's throwing knives that she had "traded" for favor for favor. "Now all I have to think of his how to sever the tent's support," Thought Hope to herself, "A fire maybe? That would do the trick since the tent is made of old dry canvas and the fire would quickly eat through that old dry wooden support!" And with that idea in mind, Hope the cute but diminutive and also addled clown stealthily crept her way through the shadows of the Big Top to her death dealing goal.

Sandy reported her decisions and reasoning back to me and her husband, Volodja Uljanov, which brought her to her personal goal of saving Volodja's life as she concluded her report with a recommendation by calmly saying, "Finally, I believe Volodja should command the overall Pluto mission from the bridge of the Vigilant. Commander Batman, I know that it is necessary for you to quite appropriately stay close to your wife right now so we need a commanding officer on the Bridge and I'm competent to lead the away team by myself and will follow his orders to a T."
I replied to her with, "I brought Kaj onboard so he could take over command of his ship. However I suppose that if you need him on the team, or feel that it's best to have them both on the Bridge so one can handle Vigilant issues while the other remotely handles your away team logistics, then I am fine with it either way. No one-way trips allowed without me. So just succeed and bring everybody back, then we can all finally return home for some much needed rest... or in your and Volodja's case a honeymoon of some sort. Even if it is in a holo-suite for a week, like Lady's and mine was."
Atika and Attila glanced at each other, sure they didn't want to be on a one-way trip, but both silently communicating to each other in their own 'twin' way that as long as they were with each other, it didn't matter what type of mission it was. So Attila quickly installed the device that he had been working on for the Riot (into the attached Garilu so it would not bog down any of the Riot's systems), and added the finishing touches. After he showed Atika everything she would need to know about it's operation, he gave her a quick kiss and told her he loved her (knowing Sandy still didn't truly aprove of the Constanties' relationship but at the moment not caring about her discomfort of it, given the type of mission she had just said they were going on). Then he went to meet Belle in the Riot's engine room, so he could help her with her modifications as ordered.
After Attila left Atika to the device, she proceeded to work on programing and modifying it as she had been ordered. While she was doing so, Kaj who had finished having a meal with his girlfriend and her kids, said his goodbyes to them. Once done he left the Mess and went to join the rest of the team in the Hangars. He had no gear to pick up, as he had left it all in the Hangars. So upon entering the hangars he retrieved his away gear and weapons. Then he carried his gear back to the Riot and stepping into it's rear cargo bay, Kaj proceeded to re-stow his gear on the Riot. Then he reported to Sandy so she knew that he was onboard and ready to help as needed.
"Now all I have to think of his how to sever the tent's support," Thought Hope to herself, "A fire maybe? That would do the trick since the tent is made of old dry canvas and the fire would quickly eat through that old dry wooden support!"
And with that idea in mind, Hope the cute but diminutive and also addled clown stealthily crept her way through the shadows of the Big Top to her death dealing goal.
Kabule had finished going over the basics of what he wanted from his 'assistant'. So he decided it was break time. As such he slipped out of his cordined off area while his 'assistant' was once again distracted with adjusting 'her' outfit. Then Kabule walked towards a rear tent support, as he reached in the jacket that he was wearing and removed his tin of cigarette case. After opening it and removing one, he replaced the tin case in his jacket. then as he placed the cigarette in his mouth, he pulled out a book of matches. As he was about to strike a match, he spotted Hope sneaking around nearby, still wearing his heavy (spare) leather jacket.
Glad to see his new 'pet' (as she had called herself), Kabule walked over to her and while admiring her lithe little form Kabule said, "Sneaking away from me already Doll? Or did My'Pet decide she missed me already and was sneakin around to come s'prise me wit'another visit, because I s'prisingly already missed you. So'if you aren't needed for a public performance, how about you spend your time keepin me company 'til my act. Ifn we can get rid of that damn'ugly bafoon that s'posed to be watchin me 'til he be needed, then perhaps ya could even give me a private show, or 'least a lot more of that rubbin and cuddlin stuff. Can't say I ever cuddled with no doll, but I sure enjoyed how you cuddle. So I could get used to that from ya, my Favorite doll. Then you will already be near me, so we can blow this joint 'mediately after my act is finished an' on the road before anybody can stop us from bein t'gether. So what d'ya say, My'Pet? Keep me company til my show, and then stay nearby so I can pick ya an' my bag up as soon as I be finished, then we be outta here."
As Kabule was talking to Hope, he put adjusted his still unilt cigarette, as he realized his match book was empty. So he said, "Guess I need to go get another book outta my bag b'fore I can light m'cig. So let's go."
Then he turned and headed back towards the curtained area containing his stuff, certain she wouldn't say no and would instead follow him, as she was the one that had offered herself to him for as long as he wanted her.
He still wasn't completely certain yet why that was appealing, as he had only known her for a few hours, but he was already warming to the idea of having a doll permanently in his care to do with as he wanted, and for some reason he was only interested in the idea if it meant having Hope as his main doll. Besides she had already promised she wouldn't try to interfere with him having some additional 'skin' on the side, hadn't she? She definitely was very pleasant to look at, even though he hadn't yet seen her without her clown paint, and he definitely loved the way she rubbed on him and wanted to be near him. So he didn't see any reason not to keep her around as his main and favorite Doll.

Hope the small clown-doll giggled nervously when Kabule said "Bafoon" as she glanced towards Gorgo's cage wondering for a moment if Kabule too was a thrall to the Hooded Man but quickly dismissed the idea. It was a long and gradual process for the Hooded Man to recruit her once he had first discovered her guilty secret of vivisecting owner-less animals to put them out of their misery and then fanning her darkest desires one of which was an all-consuming lust for the handsome Russian. Hope also recognized the fact that Kabule had been corrupted long before meeting her or coming to the Starr Circus and had done so by his own volition. Hope admired Kabule's vitality and total devotion to his own hedonistic needs. She truly believed he had a much stronger will than her's and certainly was no virgin like her and she was drawn to him all the more because of it. As he spoke about his need to get a new matchbook turning to go back behind his curtain and obviously expecting her to follow, she realized he was the flame to her moth and she was drawn to him without reservation even though she knew that once she was burned up by his heat he would have no more regard for her than a wildfire does for the forest it decimates. To Hope, Kabule was a force of nature that could never be controlled merely enjoyed in the moment for it's beauty and ardor. Hope knew that the most she could hope for from a relationship with Kabule was a brief intense blaze that would burn her to a dry dead husk but compared to what she had now in terms of human feelings was immensely preferable. When it was done - when he was done - she knew Kabule would discard her without looking back but what else could you expect from a force of nature? As Hope followed Kabule through the curtain she came to a sudden conclusion: Kabule may be what ultimately dooms her but he could also be her immediate savior! The Hooded Man wanted a virgin sacrifice and although he would rather have one other than his servant he would take her if Hope could not find a suitable replacement. Hope had failed to give him the beautiful tightrope walker Whitney Synder for his human sacrifice and had found another candidate in the child Lexy Avaritia but Hope didn't really want to give the hooded man Lexy. Hope liked Lexy for Lexy appreciated Hope's performance art whereas Whitney like most of the circus performers just considered Hope another clown - if they considered her at all! Furthermore, Whitney with her porcelain doll features and complexion, silken white hair and perfect feminine body was just too beautiful to live! Hope would just try to kill Whitney again but the opportunity was lost and now Whitney's brothers would be watching and protecting her every moment since the failed attempt on her life. However, now Hope had a way to divert the Hooded Man's desire for a virgin sacrifice away from herself. All she had to do was convince Kabule to take away her virginity. Easy-peasy! Hope raced forward taking the newly acquired matchbook from Kabule's fingers then standing on tippie-toes to light his cigarette. Then with an acrobatic leap, she wrapped her small legs around his waist and her arms around his neck as she kissed him passionately, shifting her weight only slightly so that he fell backwards into a pile of hay. As she straddled him once again she began to strip off his coat then slipped her clown's tunic over her head knocking her bright colored wig off in the process revealing her plain dishwater blonde hair as she threw her clothes to the side. Hope kissed him once again with twice the ardor as before, her nude body held closely to his as she whispered breathlessly, her lips hovering above his, her eyes mere slits of dark shadows, "Please take me right here, right now... utterly destroy me with your fire... I don't want to be a virgin anymore..." Sitting up suddenly, Hope became self consciously aware of what she was asking and his eyes on her nakedness as she tightly hugged herself with her skinny arms hiding her small breasts while her big blue eyes teared up when she stuttered, "I-I-I'm not the d-d-doll you thought I was, am I? I'm the small fish you throw back, aren't I? I-I-I'm sooooo sorry..." Large tears streaked Hope's white clown makeup revealing her youngster's cute face and began to fall on his chest with her small head soon following with a gentle "thud" then as she listened to his steady heart beat and sniffled said sadly, "Not a beautiful swan like Whitney... just an ugly duckling, and nobody wants one of those for a pet!" Meanwhile as Dinara stood forlornly to the right of the center ring in the Big Top not far from where Sophie the Ringmaster announced the next circus act, the smoke of a nearby torch coalesced into the transparent form of her dead lover Amber the Mystic, who said in a barely audible ghostly voice, "Don't lose Hope!" As if on cue, Gorgo the huge gorilla became enraged once more slamming into the bars of his cage time and time again - until the ancient lock on his cage door imperceptibly broke!

Hope kissed him once again with twice the ardor as before, her nude body held closely to his as she whispered breathlessly, her lips hovering above his, her eyes mere slits of dark shadows, "Please take me right here, right now... utterly destroy me with your fire... I don't want to be a virgin anymore..."
Sitting up suddenly, Hope became self consciously aware of what she was asking and his eyes on her nakedness as she tightly hugged herself with her skinny arms hiding her small breasts while her big blue eyes teared up when she stuttered, "I-I-I'm not the d-d-doll you thought I was, am I? I'm the small fish you throw back, aren't I? I-I-I'm sooooo sorry..."
Large tears streaked Hope's white clown makeup revealing her youngster's cute face and began to fall on his chest with her small head soon following with a gentle "thud" then as she listened to his steady heart beat and sniffled said sadly, "Not a beautiful swan like Whitney... just an ugly duckling, and nobody wants one of those for a pet!"
as she laid against him and cried after her bout of self-conscious worry, Kabule, still with his now lit cigarette in his mouth, slid a broad hand down her back feeling up her little body. He slipped it around her front long enough to possessively (but for some odd reason he couldn't explain; somewhat gently) squeeze one of her very cute-small orange-sized breasts, before sliding his hand back down her backside. Once he caressed her little bottom for a few seconds to calm her some, he then slid his hand back up her body in the same way that he had moved it down her body (breast-squeeze included). Then he moved his hand up to the back of her head and grabbing her blonde her, he used it to pull her head back so he could see her cute face and look sternly into her blue eyes as he said matter-of-factly, "Swans be ugly an' taste bad. You be a perty lil' finch and I bettin you be tastin REAL good. You cert'nly look it an' smell it to me. So my perty lil' bird stop wit' the waterworks, 'til I give ya a reason ta cry. Got it?"
Then he released her hair and just rubbed the back of her head. As she weakly nodded to acknowledge that she would try to stop, Kabule reached over and grabbed the heavy leather jacket that she had just removed and pulled it over her body. As she looked catiously at him, afraid that he was hiding her body as he didn't want to see it and the tears building up again because of it, he said sternly, "I said no waterworks. 'Sides not hidin yer cute lil' bod from my peepers, hidin it from others'. You be mine now, an' Kabule does NOT share. So nobody gets'ta be seein ya neked but me from now on. Got it?"
Then his hand once again trailed down her body in the same way as before. However this time after he was done fondling her butt, his hand moved around to her front. Then he rubbed her damp crotch and started working his finger over her excited nubbin; to further the point that she was his and he liked what he saw, felt and smelled of her.
Meanwhile as Dinara stood forlornly to the right of the center ring in the Big Top not far from where Sophie the Ringmaster announced the next circus act, the smoke of a nearby torch coalesced into the transparent form of her dead lover Amber the Mystic, who said in a barely audible ghostly voice, "Don't lose Hope!" Dinara stared at the Amber-specter as she said quietly, "Huh? Lose hope? How can I no...Oh you said it like a name! How are we gonna lose our clown...lose her to what?!" As if on cue, Gorgo the huge gorilla became enraged once more slamming into the bars of his cage time and time again - until the ancient lock on his cage door imperceptibly broke! After realizing he broke the lock, Gorgo threw his cage door open. Seeing it, Dinara yelled, "Gorgo's loose!" Hearing that, Kellina and Ganbaatar who had their swords in hand, as they were about to take stage to perform a staged sword battle, quickly came in. Kakusi who was once again checking on Whitney, stood up as he told her brothers to get her out of the tent. Then he quickly stood and lumbered towards where he had seen the Gorilla cage, as he heard somebody ordering some carnies to get the audience out of the tent. As Kakusi and the Mongolians reacted to the call of danger by coming to Dinara's and Sophie's sides to help as needed, Dinara glanced around and then yelled loudly hoping her brother would hear, "KABULE HELP! PUHLEASE!!!!!"
Hearing his kid sister's panicked call for help from across the Big Top, Kabule quickly sprung to his feet with Hope still clinging to him. He quickly set her down and gave her another quick look over as he took one last puff of his cigarette. Then he dropped it to the ground and ground it out under his boot, as he grabbed Hope roughly by her naked butt and pulled her into him. He gave her a very passionate and lustful kiss. Then as he let her go he snapped, "Get dressed now!" Then he ran over to his duffle-bag and bedroll. As Hope quickly dressed while watching him, he unrolled his bedroll quickly. Hope looked at him slightly confused as she was now getting mixed signals since he told her get dressed, but he was also quickly unbundling his bedroll. Once he got it unrolled, it revealed that he was after it's hidden contents. Two holstered Nagant M1895 “Officer’s model” (double-action) revolvers. As he stood up and quickly attached the holsters, he noticed Hope still partially nude watching him closely. So he snapped, "Never know when ya need extra backup. Now finish gettin dressed MY Perty Lil Bird! And get ready to run, iffin I tell ya to!" Kabule took a second to make sure his revolvers were still fully loaded with all 7 rounds in each and ready, as these were not the type of pistol that you could quick-load. Then quickly making sure he had several knives in the multi-knife holster he always wore strapped to his chest. Next he smacked Hope's butt and gave her another quick passionate kiss, right before he ran out of his curtained area and into the main tent. Seeing the angry Gorilla and Kakusi sizing each other up, Kabule drew his pistols and ran in to step infront of his panicked sister, as he snapped to Dinara, "Get yerself, Hope and the others outta here. Don'wanna accidently kill non-enemies, iffin the ape attacks!"

Seeing the angry Gorilla and Kakusi sizing each other up, Kabule drew his pistols and ran in to step in front of his panicked sister, as he snapped to Dinara, "Get yerself, Hope and the others outta here. Don'wanna accidently kill non-enemies, iffin the ape attacks!" Hope the small clown had followed Kabule out from behind his performance curtain, but upon seeing the huge ape Gorgo climb on top of his cage majestically thumping his broad chest, she pushed herself between Kabule and Dianara exclaiming loudly as she did, "NO MASTER! It's too soon!" before rushing towards Gorgo. In the flickering light of the Big Top's candle lit chandeliers, many who looked at Gorgo at this moment blinked their eyes in disbelief for in that moment he looked more like a reptilian alien with armored plates and a long weapon like appendage on his right arm. The illusion lasted only for a second for it was broken when Gorgo leaped from the top of his cage to the chandelier directly over the center bleachers where Boss Avaritia and him family were sitting. From his perch far above the Big Top's floor, Gorgo looked past the towering Kakuski to where Whitney Synder was being quickly escorted out of the tent by her two brothers. Gorgo swung from the chandelier to a side pole of the tent bypassing the circus giant to the Big Top's entrance knocking first one brother to the side then the other before scooping up the struggling girl and throwing her over his shoulder. With a primal roar, Gorgo exited the tent with a rough gait headed towards where the nearby train to Kansas City sat on its tracks. Boss Avaritia had been sitting in the stands with his family angrily calculating what he figured was a personal financial disaster by buying the Starr Circus. When Gorgo escaped his cage, he stood up and smiled wickedly as he thought of a way to at least partially recoup his funds. He pulled a revolver from inside his suit coat pocket and began firing at the giant ape thinking, "At least I'll have your head above my mantle you big bastard!" Soon several of his accompanying gangsters were following his lead also firing at Gorgo and paying no notice to the swinging chandelier that was quickly breaking from its moorings far above the Avaritia family. One exception to that fact was the cocaine-addled flapper, Acedia Avaritia, who threw herself on top of her daughter trying in vain to shield little Lexy from the falling debris. As Gorgo ambled out of the Big Top, Sarge the Strongman limped in looking for the new Ringmaster Sophie. He spotted her as soon as he entered in the center ring ducking the gunfire of both gangsters and now the clown attired Officer Ira. Without hesitation, Sarge hurried to Sophie's side embracing her while serving as a human shield for her to the flying bullets - until three of them hit him in the back. Before his brown eyes flickered shut and his muscular body crumpled to the ground, Sarge confessed to her, "I love you Sophie! I've always loved y-" Hope too fell but face forward as she chased after Gorgo. However, when she rolled over she discovered a sharp pain in her shoulder and a blossoming crimson stain on the leather jacket Kabule had given her to wear. "Oh... pretty red flower," Muttered Hope before falling backwards unconscious, unaware of the stampeding crowd racing towards her as carnies and rubes both tried to escape from the growing inferno caused by their haste knocking over torches in the Big Top as they panicked.

Seeing the chandelier starting to break loose as the big ape had flung himself off it, Kakusi quickly moved into the audience stands and braced himself above the panicked woman and child. When it did break loose it fell only to be caught by the big giant using his whole upper body; back, neck, and shoulders. As he strained to hold the heavy chandelier with his very sore, battered and weakening body, he said loudly to the woman and child, "Move now! I can not hold it for long!!"
After Acedia pulled Lexy away from where they had been sitting, Kakusi's legs gave out and the big man dropped to his knees under the strain of the chandelier. Once the woman and girl were far enough away from him, Sazri Kakusi pushed back with his shoulders and slid the chandelier off his back. Then with what strength he had left, the giant stood on shaky legs and scooped up the frightened mother and daughter as he saw the Big Top starting to catch fire in places. Then carrying the mother and young daughter, he made his way out of the tent pushing through the crowd that was still running out of the entrance. Once he had gotten far enough from the Big Top, he set the mother and daughter done. Then he dropped to his knees, before ultimately falling on his face next to them, where he lay unconscious from the extreme strain and use of his strength; bruised, beaten and perhaps even broken.
Kabule had ran out of the tent as he had also started chasing after the Gorilla, but as everybody started running in panic, he couldn't get a clear shot and didn't want to waste the precious bullets accidently shooting something other than the odd ape. As he holstered his guns, he watched the ape amble away with Whitney in hand and several gangsters chasing after them. As he looked around and saw that the tent was now catching fire, he saw Dinara coming out of it coughing slightly from the smoke. He made his way over to her and checked to make sure Dinara was alright. Then he looked around to see if he could find his pet. He didn't know why she had called the ape master nor did he have time to care at the moment. All that mattered now that he knew his sister was safe was finding Hope and making sure she was alright. If nothing else she would at least see that he would care for her more than the ape ever would.
As he looked around for the young clown, Dinara saw Kakusi fall and said, "Kabully I gotta go check on my friend and the panicked girl with her mother that are next to him, but I promise I will keep out of the way of all the flyin bullets and panicked people as it looks like Kakusi took them the opposite direction of the crowd!"
Then Dinara ran over to the area where Kakusi and his 'charges' had made it to before his great fall, to check on the friendly giant who had, not long ago, risked his life trying to save Amber from her burning trailer, and then stayed with Dinara to try to comfort her despite his distrust of most people. Dinara made sure the crying woman and child were unharmed, then knelt by the fallen giant. She could tell by his breathing that he was still alive, but all she could do for him at the moment was make sure nobody stepped on him, while she also tried to comfort the panicked mother and child that were still huddled not far from where their giant savior had fallen.
I've always loved y-"
Hope too fell but face forward as she chased after Gorgo.
The Mongolians with their swords in hand and Tavan by Kellina's side, followed the crowd to make sure they all got to safety, figuring once the crowd was safe they would join in the gorilla hunt.
Seeing Hope fall as she chased after the crazed ape, Kabule quickly made a beeline for her. The lanky Russian zigzagged through the crowd of panicked people, and reached Hope. He quickly picked her up and stepped back out of the crowd. Once it was clear, Kabule carrying the unconscious Hope, made his way back towards where his sister had gone. Once Kabule relocated her, he walked over to where Dinara, Kakusi, Lexy, and Acadia were at out of the way of all the chaos. Then Kabule laid Hope down on ground, not far from where Kakusi lay unconscious and the mother and daughter sat huddled together as Dinara had gotten the pair to sit by her and Kakusi, while she watched over the unconscious Kakusi.
After carefully laying his 'perty lil' bird' on the hard ground near the fallen giant, Kabule removed his leather jacket and slid it under her head as a pillow. Once that was done, he opened the jacket she was wearing and saw the bullet wound in her shoulder. He removed her jacket to get a better look at the shoulder wound and did a quick look of her body. He didn't see any other wounds, but discovered that Hope was lucky for not only did the only bullet to hit her land in her shoulder but she was also lucky that it was a clear through and through, which meant there would be no lasting damage once it healed. So he quickly unclasped his knife belt from his chest and dropped it to the ground by his feet. Then he pulled off his shirt. Once it was off, he ripped it open. Then he used it as a bandage as he wrapped it around Hope's shoulder and tied it tightly in place. Then he draped the heavy jacket that he had removed from her, over her like a blanket.
Seeing Kabule carefully checking over Hope, Dinara watched curiously; and as she wasn't quite used to this side of her brother (the very bad twin), she let her curiosity get the better of her and quietly asked, "Kabully are you gettin a case of the 'feels'?"
Without looking up, Kabule snapped, "Feelins are for the weak! She's agreed ta and WILL continue ta be MY new pet! That-is all ya need know fer now, LIL' sister! Now shut it! Take care of Hope, the sleepin giant, and the panicked mot'er an' daughter!"
Dinara said, "Why, where are you going?!"
Kabule snapped back, "Ta kill that damnable ape before it hurts anybody else!"
Then he stood and quickly picked up his knife belt, and clasped it back in place over his now bare and muscular chest.
Dinara looked pleadingly at Kabule and said quietly, "You promised not to leave no more! Besides lots of men with guns and the Mongolians went after Gonzo, or Gorgo, or Go-go, or whatever it's-name-is! Let them handle it! Look around! The tent is on fire and everyone still in there or near us is either dead, hurt, injured, or in some sort of shock.....except you it seems! So what if that Gorilla comes back, and what about those still in the tent?! We can't protect ourselves from him, but you can! We aren't fighters, but YOU are! So we need your protection but first you need to go find Sophie and Sarge! She never came out and I saw Sarge go in!"
Kabule desperately wanted to go after and kill the gorilla, not because it was the right thing to do but because Hope was already growing on him and he looked forward to having his 'perty lil' bird' around and it appeared Hope considered the gorilla master. So Kabule wanted to terminate that master/slave relationship by violently ripping off the damnable ape's head with his bare hands and playing football (soccer) with it.
However as he looked around at Big Top catching fire, he knew Dinara was right. He was the only one left in the immediate area that was capable of defending them and definitely armed enough. So he removed a pistol and started the slow process of reloading all it's spent shells as he replied, "Fine, I will go try to rescue your friends from the fire. Then I will return and protect all of you in case the beast returns! So eiter way, I mus' leave Hope here in yer care, while I go retrieve your friends and then protect all of you, or die tryin!"
Then he handed the freshly loaded gun to Dinara, and said, "Take it just in case he comes back before I do!"
Dinara, reluctantly took it not liking the idea of using a gun, and replied, "Don't worry! I will keep Hope and the others here safe, til you come back to fully protect us as you promised!"
As Kabule nodded he un-holstered his second pistol and started reloading it as he started moving back toward the Big Top. As he had made his way to the Big Top's entrance, Dinara muttered to herself, "Besides MY Amber-Baby said don't lose Hope, so I am not gonna! I am gonna hope all turns out alright for us, and at the same time keep my friend Hope safe as well, while all you fighters do what you gotta to ensure that!"
Then Dinara said to Lexy and her mom who were now sitting near her, the unconscious Kakusi, and the unconscious Hope, "Don't worry. My brother may be many bad things but he is my brother and I know him. If he says he will protect us or die trying, then that is exactly what he will do! So you can relax! He will keep us safe with all he has, just like our giant friend just kept you and your daughter safe with all he had!"
Kabule quickly made his way back to the Big top and re-holstered his now reloaded pistol, as he ran inside. It was starting to get pretty smoky in the tent. However he was able to locate Sophie and an unconscious strongman. Sophie refused to leave without the doughboy, and Kabule realized she already had him laid out on a piece of canvas that she was trying to drag by herself. So Kabule reluctantly grabbed a section of the canvas and helped Sophie drag Sarge out of the tent and over to where Kakusi and Hope were laying unconscious in Dinara's care. Then he and Sophie pulled Sarge next to the other two unconscious people. Once that was done, Kabule pulled his bandana out of his jacket and wrapped it around his mouth. Then he ran back into the blazing tent.
It was hard to see anything but he managed to escort out a few more people during his second trip into the breach. Then he made one last trip into the tent. This third trip was a lot more difficult as it was very smoky and flames were leaping all over the place, but eventually he came across a still breathing circus performer who had gotten lost in the smoke and fire, ending up in Kabule's curtained off area, instead of outside. So Kabule, knowing they had to get out fast as the tent was starting to fall down around them, did the only thing he could think of given the situation. He put the person on the back of his bike, dumped a bucket of water on his open bedroll nearby and threw the drenched roll over the person. Then he got on his bike, telling the person to hold onto him tight. Next he quickly started his bike and opened it's throttle to full. Once it was started, he quickly worked his bike through the smoky and now extremely flaming tent. His bike came roaring out of the entrance just before the tent collapsed behind it.
He slams on the brake near where Dinara and the others are waiting. As they help his injured passenger off the back of his bike, Kabule considers just taking off as he is back on his bike and all of his other belongings are lost in the flames. However he sees the look of fear in Dinara's eyes as she recognizes the look of his eyes accompanying his thoughts; the look that also always accompanies his departure. Then he sees Hope still laying on the ground unconscious. The cute clown who already declared her love for him, bared her ripe young body to him, and promised to be all his for as long as he wanted her; near his sister who had made him promise not to leave her again. He may not believe in love and thinks feelings are strictly for the weak, but at that moment something made the Russian, always on the run, decide he didn't want to leave Hope behind nor leave his sister again just yet. So he would instead stay awhile longer, despite the fact that he knew karma was out to get him and his time could be over at any moment. So he shut off his iron horse, then the desperado got off of it as he looked around as he drew his second pistol to protect those near him as he had agreed to. (His other pistol being left with Dinara who had handed it to Sophie when she arrived, for Dinara didn't want anything to do with guns if possible. However Sophie didn't seem to have that problem and somebody needed to stand watch while Kabule had been making his trips into the burning tent. So Dinara had entrusted her brother's gun to Sophie, knowing it would be in good hands.)

In a comfortable but otherwise empty and stopped railroad diner car decorated in Art Deco sconces and red velvet curtains, a suited elderly man in a white beard and smoking an expensive cigar and a beautiful Japanese-American woman in plain servant garb sat a small table holding two fine brandies. He smiled at the frowning woman, then puffed contently on his cigar pausing for effect before he spoke. “Life, as we find it, is too hard for us;" The old man began taking another puff on his cigar before continuing, "It brings us too many pains, disappointments and impossible tasks. In order to bear it we cannot dispense with palliative measures... There are perhaps three such measures: powerful deflections, which cause us to make light of our misery; substitutive satisfactions, which diminish it; and intoxicating substances, which make us insensible to it.” The unhappy woman threw her dark slanted eyes heavenward without saying a word but taking a long sip of her brandy which made the balding man laugh before taking off his glasses and cleaning them on a cloth napkin as he remarked, "I really ought to write these gems down - or perhaps I already have, I forget!" Suddenly there was a large thump on the Kansas City train's dining car roof followed by a primal beast's roar and the scream of a young girl from outside.

"Don't imagine that our therapy is over because someone is trying to join us by coming through the roof. I know that I am popular and people do everything to get a session with me, inducing break-in," said Sigmund seriously. "We just have to continue later. Doctor should always continue with cure even if patients don't feel like revealing cause of their troubles. When patient resists and threatens you with a gun then doctor should take the gun away and continue with cure. In worst case the patient might try to escape. In that case that patient must be caught, put back to the couch and - keep going. They will thank the doctor afterwards. Let's see what is going on!" He pulled Moira up from her seat and led her out. Outside the burning tent Sophie leaned over wounded strongman. Her pretty face was covered with smut, her hair smelled burnt and her clothes spread scent of smoke. Tears drew streaks to her blackened cheeks, leaving behind much lighter creek beds and finally dropped to the body of unconscious strongman. Sophie couldn't blame smoke for her wet eyes. She was crying indeed. For Mike, for herself and others and for the burning circus. "Don't you dare to leave me, Mikey," she whispered, listening hum of flames, shouts of the circus crew, mixed with animal growls, roars and neigh of frightened horses, stomps of feet, clacking of hoofs and lot of other noises which occur during catastrophes. "I love you too so...so...so don't try to escape after revealing your feelings and now when our little world is on fire we have only each other to take care of and if we are going to rebuild it then I need you more than ever. So don't you dare to leave me!" Sophie took Mike's face between her palms and rubbed her nose gently against Mike's. She was still weeping but now her tears dropped on Mike's skin as it was raining. Sudden movement she spotted from the corner of her eye caught her attention for a mere second, but that was enough. She already spotted one of escaped mobsters who stared at them still holding a pistol in his hand. Absent mindedly Sophie spot and grabbed nearby circus whip from the ground and with one strong swung she twirled it around mobsters ankles and pulled. Mobster lost balance and hit the nearby circus wagon, releasing a sound of two hard objects colliding each other. His eyes turned upside down, goofy smile appeared to his face and he slid down and kissed the ground. Seeing him down, Sophie turned his face towards Mike again and kissed tenderly his forehead, tears still in her eyes.
