Lena Marr was fuming that her master Marcel Lestrange and the old psychiatrist Wolfram Von Eschen were discussing her in the third person as if she wasn't in the room - which she was! As a Castithan working caste woman who had been indentured as a servant, her upbringing should have made it so it didn't bother her for her culture treated such women more as inanimate objects than as people. However a new third voice had suddenly popped up in her mind, Anger, that demanded that she no longer remain impassive and that she take action. Lena stamped her foot once loudly to get the room's attention before exclaiming loudly, "HEY! I'm right over here you two! Nothing is wrong with me if you would just pay attention - " Lena's chalk white hands flew up to cover her mouth as her long lashed sky blue eyes grew big as saucers when she realized it was her master who she was talking to so she apologized once she regained her composure, "I'm sooooo sorry Master Lestrange! I don't know what came over me..." Lena blinked and then her eyes were downcast again as she fell back to her domestic training and began tidying the Synth Girls quarters. She had just finished making the beds with perfectly folded corners thinking, "Great job if I do say myself," when another voice popped into her head, Pride, which mentally replied to her thought, "Damn right!" Before she could have a second thought on the matter there was a quick knock on the the room's door before the Synth sister Yvette entered unbidden hand-in-hand-in-hand with the Constantine twins all three with large grins on their faces. "We came, we saw, we partied hearty!" Boasted Yvette as she put her muscular arms around the shoulders of her two new bosom buddies. The beautiful pale Synth Sister Whitney who was leaning against the wall applying a glossy white nail polish to her perfectly manicured fingernails looked up nonchalantly from her task, a wry smile on her face as she did so commenting, "Yvette got some!" Ruby, the Synth Empire's envoy and the third Synth Sister in the room furrowed her brow while a questioning look crossed her cherubic face as she turned to Whitney asking, "Got some what?" Whitney's ice blue eyes stared at Ruby with disbelief but then remembered Ruby's naive nature so she cocked a snow white eyebrow saying in a calm voice but with her sardonic smile remaining, " Think about it Ruby..." Ruby frowned until a moment later her jaw dropped and her silvery eyes grew wide. Whitney wouldn't have been surprised if a suddenly a glowing light bulb had appeared above Ruby's raven haired head as Ruby replied, "Oh... OHHHHHH! I get it!" then grinned at Yvette and her two new friends. Suddenly a queer look appeared on Ruby's cute face and she tilted her head as if listening to a distant voice whereupon her grin grew as she announced to all those in the room, "Good news all! Father - Big Boss to you non-synths - has reconsidered the Synth Empire's Reeducation Program and has decided to suspend it indefinitely. Seems our sister Brooke is with Mr. Uljanov and he provided both convincing arguments and evidence of the importance of individuality and free will that changed Father's mind. That's the good news but the bad news is that he can't do anything to affect those who have already been reeducated although without further treatments the reeducation should wear off over time." "I have news as well," Said Atika the red blush just beginning to fade from her cheeks, "Commander Batman requests the presence of the Synth Envoy and her entourage on the bridge of the Vigilant as soon as possible." Ruby attached her collapsible scythe weapon to her back and the answered with a grin as she put on her red cape, "Don't want to keep the good Commander waiting, so let's go! I'll tell Brooke to meet us there." The Synth Sisters and the Constantine twins then left the quarters to the Vigilant, closing the room behind them but not before Whitney said somewhat sarcastically over her shoulder, "Don't do anything we wouldn't do you three. Be sure to turn off the lights when you leave." As the door closed silence prevailed for the moment in the room as Lena, Marcel, and Wolfram looked at each other until Lena said under her breath, "What now?"

Lena's actions didn't passed unnoticed. Old Wolfram observed her behaviour but did it unusually delicate manner. When Lena snapped at him and Marcel Lestrange, he told: "Sorry about that, young lady. That was an old tradition in Europe that masters talked not only about their servants in third person, but used the same form even when they talked with them. Like: "Mmmm...Marcel is so kind and pulls master's boots off." Or something similar. Mind if I speak with Marcel again? About you, because you are his responsibility."
Wolfram nodded to Lena and turned to Marcel:
"Before you say or do something, Marcel, I will tell you that we, psychiatrists, are used with observing our clients and fixate any kind of signs which differ from their normal conduct. But Lena has such a colourful character that we must redefine "normal" in her case. And this "I am a modest Castithan maid, willing to serve and fulfil my master's wishes without arguing" is very unusual to her. But there are few glimpses here and then when she shows us different emotions. Lena like emotions. Normal emotions. I have only one thing to say about that. Lena is one tough nut, Marcel. A fighter. She fights against her re-education program with the help of...I am not sure what that is, though, but it surely helps her."
Moira, Marcel's EGO psyche, whispered into the ear of her host:
"Old Doctor obviously doesn't know that Lena's mind is quite overcrowded with different personalities who have a voice of their own. Not exactly voices of reasons most of the time, but there are exceptions. Now these voices keep express themselves when Lena does, sees or hears something and thus they help to preserve her true personality. With possible exception of Sloth who is usually way too lazy. Should we tell Wolfram about that? We could ask Lena, but that would be complicated when you look at this problem from the philosophical-ontological-existential point of view. Is maid Lena allowed to tell about voices of Lena Marr? Or do any of her voices represent wholeness of her mind when we haver to look them as separate entities?"
"Moira! Be so kind and shut the fuck up! I got rid of one pointless philosopher and word maker already and now you begin your mantra. Sometimes you are worse than Volodja, you know."
"I might shut the fuck up as you asked, but the problem still remains, Marcie-baby. You know very well that you don't want to decide that question of passing delicate information about Lena to the third party because you appreciate her as an individual who is equal to you, and want her permission for that. Usually you don't give a damn, but Lena is an exception. So...?"

"Question everything. Learn something. Answer nothing." - Euripides.***** As asked, Lena Marr sashayed across the room to give her master Marcel Lestrange and the doctor Wolfram Von Eshen privacy presumably to speak about her and her strange behavior. On a table near the door of the Synth Sisters' quarters, she spotted the bottle of white nail polish belonging to Whiney, immediately opening it and applying it to her own nails until she caught herself, thinking in horror, "Gods above, what am I doing? This doesn't belong to me - I'm stealing from my betters! Master Lestrange is going to give me such a whipping!" "Hey, that color looks good on you," Said Pride in Lena's mind, who was one of voices gradually reappearing in Lena's mind after a short absence and representing one of the seven deadly sins. "And why not take it," Interjected the newly arrived Greed, "You deserve it!" "That synth bitch shouldn't have anything you don't have!" Exclaimed Envy also newly arrived. "A whipping might be fun," Stated Lust changing the topic, "Could lead to some creative romping!" "Takes way too much energy," Complained Sloth, also just back to voice her opinion, "I'm way too tired from all this cleaning!" "Stop all this arguing!" Yelled Anger, "You're making our head hurt!" "It's getting awfully crowded in here. Is this normal?" Questioned Hope, Lena's EGO psyche and the only voice Lena knew should be there. Lena's sky blue eyes grew big as her chalk white jaw dropped when she realized that suddenly the amount of voices had doubled in her brain for still didn't remember the fact that this was normal for her ever since she was an abused child in her orphanage/brothel home in Lima. The Synth reeducation had blocked all memory of the voices as well as the voices themselves, but the latter were rapidly returning. Lena was used to her EGO psyche's voice speaking to her telepathically, but she found all these new voices more than a little disturbing. She glanced back to the table where she found Whitney's small bottle of nail polish and spotted a large bowl of fruit there. Lena absentmindedly picked up an apple and began munching on it as she thought until she realized what she had done dropping it to the floor with a loud "plop" as she heard an hysterical giggle in her mind. "Made you look!" Said Gluttony with a laugh also having newly arrived back home. Lena noticed that the two men were now staring at her standing above the dropped partially eaten apple and Lena's pretty chalk white face turned from looking confused to looking scared whereupon she hurried over to both grabbing the men's arms in a death grip with surprisingly strong hands as she exclaimed, "You have to help good sirs!!! I'm suddenly hearing voices other than my EGO's and they're telling me to do terrible things!!! Several are telling me to rip off Master Lestrange's clothes and make him do all sorts of deviant sexual acts with me which is alright if it was his idea for that is a Castithan Master's prerogative with his servants but not mine as a lower caste servant girl and certainly not with me holding a whip!!! Other voices are telling me to find a straight razor and cut Doctor Von Eschen's throat from ear to ear and steal his wallet and that it would be fun!!! My EGO psyche doesn't recognize who these voices are and neither do I and what kind of person puts an expensive EGO in a serving girl's head anyway???" Lena began to vigorously shake both men by the shoulders as her voice grew more frantic and she shouted, "Is this EGO device malfunctioning and driving me crazy? Or am I not crazy and all people are like me having voices speaking in their noggins telling them to do such terrible things but also making them orgasm just thinking about doing them!!!" ***** Meanwhile on the bridge of the Vigilant, Erika Widowmaker was trying to comprehend what Lady Christianna was showing her from the Protectors' vast computer records with file after file confirming that Erika had another living child other than her daughter Kara and that he was the democratically selected Chancellor of the Votan Collective as she asked, "So his name is Cael and the Synth Empire that deposed him in favor of Governor Skarr wiped my memories of him after he was supposed killed by the Synth girl Brooke but that wasn't him but a clone? Do you realize how crazy that sound? It sounds like the plot of a very poorly thought out science fiction story." Lady nodded her head in affirmation but said nothing because she was always a teenager of few words as Erika frowned her red clay colored forefinger tracing the long scar that ran from her high cheek bone to her square jaw on the left side of her face has she remarked, "However I cannot deny the evidence you are showing me Lady. I can only hope I will regain my memory of him by the time we rescue him if he is still alive." Sandy Bell finished double checking the preparation plans for the imminent departure of the Vigilant turning to Atticus Batman sitting in the command chair reporting, "The Vigilant is systems-ready for take-off sir! Will you or Captain Oenfer be commanding the Vigilant on this trip? And if I might ask, where are we going?" Before Atticus could answer, the Constantine twins and three of the Synth sisters arrived on the Bridge laughing and chatting belaying the seriousness of the upcoming mission, as Ruby the Synth Empire's Envoy innocently asked with a warm smile on her young cherubic face, "What can I do for you Commander Batman?

“Mad Matter: "Have I gone mad?" Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”Wolfram von Eschen looked Lena Marr as she was a specimen of some extremely rare species while Marcel Lestrange described Lena's mind with the help of Moira because Lena sort of allowed them to reveal her little secret when she blurted it out. Wolfram was once more convinced that Lena was a really unique specimen and now her uniqueness was complemented by having voices in her head. Earlier Wolfram would have been extremely worried about it but since he joined Protectors he already had experience with variety of problems of most extreme kind and voices in Lena's head were one those occurrences. He looked at Lena once more and said: "This is an interesting case indeed. I believe that whoever tried to erase your original features didn't took the possibility that you may have multiple EGO psyches under consideration. They are EGO psyches I assume. I think that we have to release your main EGO psyche from the influence of your so called "re education" program. Then we have higher chance to get our Lena back and take those voices under control. But how can we do it?" Marcel Lestrange was not a theoretician. In matter of fact he was not even a psychiatrist but he had couple of ideas of his own and one of those ideas presented itself at this very moment, making him say: "You, Boche, are not going to do anything. I remember that someone once said that body remembers, even if mind does not. And I am going to try to silence some of those voices by helping Lena to satisfy some of her urges." "But..." "Boche! At moment I have chosen to satisfy her fleshy urges but if you keep blabbering, I will change my mind and let her satisfy that other urge of cutting your throat and stealing your wallet! The choice is yours! I must warn that I already feel tempted to Let Lena do that thing to you." "When you express your suggestions in way like this, I think that I will give you a try," replied Wolfram von Eschen. "Très Bien! Get out, Doctor Bosche, and leave everything to Doctor Feelgood," said Marcel and pushed Wolfram out of the quarters of Synth girls. Then he took Lena to his strong hands and said her: "Our test polygon is going to be this neatly made bed right here." Then he tossed her gently into the bed, saying: "If we succeed, we will include the maid game into our bed activities." Then he added with grin: "One possible way to make sure that we have succeeded, will be this bed - if you do not feel an urge to rearrange sheets and blankets after we have finished, then I believe that we are making progress in bringing you back, Honey Pot."

Sandy Bell finished double checking the preparation plans for the imminent departure of the Vigilant turning to Atticus Batman sitting in the command chair reporting, "The Vigilant is systems-ready for take-off sir! Will you or Captain Oenfer be commanding the Vigilant on this trip? And if I might ask, where are we going?"
Before Atticus could answer, the Constantine twins and three of the Synth sisters arrived on the Bridge laughing and chatting belaying the seriousness of the upcoming mission, as Ruby the Synth Empire's Envoy innocently asked with a warm smile on her young cherubic face, "What can I do for you Commander Batman?"
I was looking at Sandy as she talked but glanced at Ruby in acknowledgement as she entered. Then I said calmly to Sandy, "Kaj will be staying at Fortress K'shaa as Taffer's second while we are away as Vo seems to be preoccupied with other things. So that would put Miss Yar in command of the Vigilant when I or my acting second are not on the Bridge. Normally my second would Be Erika but as she is not quite feeling well, I am not sure she is up to it. If she is not up to the task, then I feel you are more than capable of it. Besides you already have the part where, 'My Second calls me on my bullshit and puts me in my place if needed', down pat. So as long as we can keep from killing each other, I do not see why I would not ask you to fill in for Erika if needed. Of course, if you refuse because you feel you can not work that intimately with me, then I suppose the temporary position will fall to Volodja.....if he ever daking shows up before we launch!
However I agree with you that we should be playing to our strengths. So as Volodja is our Ambassador of peace and goodwill, I would rather he handle any negotiations that may come up. Besides he feels more at ease as an advisor. So by that merit, the two best candidates as my acting second are both currently on the Bridge and as I already stated are: you and Erika. As for our destination...I wish I daking knew for certain. However I am still combing through all the available information and may need a little more help with it...which is why I had Atika bring the Envoy and her sisters onto the Bridge to see us. Although given what we know of Skarr, it is probably safe to assume that our rescue target will be somewhere that Skarr can visit easily. So that would be somewhere in the Votanis Collective."
Then I stood up and looking at the Synth Envoy, I held out both armored hands palms up as I said, "Eseneziri Ruby. I am afraid that circumstances kept me from meeting you personally until now. However I have met a couple of your helpful sisters already....Speaking of which, it looks like one is missing....As I met her earlier, I know it is Brooke. As what I have to discuss with you involves her directly, I would prefer to tell her personally. So where is she anyway?!"
Ruby responded with, "I believe she is with the one named Volodja."
I nodded them responded with, "Well then as he is supposed to be present as well, let us hope they both help the other find their ways here soon and don't worry we will not launch until they are onboard. In the meantime...perhaps a slight compromise. I will tell you the basics of why I requested your attendance and leave the major details which involve Brooke for when she arrives."
Ruby nodded and I gestured at my huge view-screen as I continued with, "As you can see I am going through all the information that we have on Governor Skarr and Chancellor Cael. The reason for that is that I have it on good authority that Brooke killed a clone and the real Cael is still alive somewhere. I will save those exact details for when Brooke is here so I can tell her exactly what I know about that incident. In the meantime I am having trouble shortening our area of search. Although as you already heard, I feel the most likely location to find Cael is within easy travel distance from Skarr. So we are planning to go on a rescue mission for my nephew somewhere in the Votanis Collective.
However any insight that you may have on the matter would be helpful. Also given you and your sisters' personal involvement with this matter, I feel it best we assign the four of you quarters on the Vigilant that way you and I can easily visit if needed during our travels and Atika will make sure to give all four of you a tour so that you and your sisters can have full use of all amenities while you are on the Vigilant. I am also willing to consider letting the four of you accompany us on our rescue mission, if you request it. Although before deciding on that, I would have to discuss it with my Second and my faithful advisor first. I am sure you can understand that...and why I will not give the exact details that I have about Cael until Brooke is present to hear it and see my evidence first hand."

"Brother Dear," Began Erika Widowmaker still looking at the information on her computer console confirming she had a son that her sister-in-law Lady Christianna had brought up there for her perusal, "I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that I have a son named Cael that was the duly elected Chancellor of the Votanis Collective so I think I'd best pass up the promotion for the moment. Besides, Sandy is more than able to fulfill the duties of second-in-command." "Ditto that," Interjected Lady with an enigmatic smile on her teenage Castithan face. Sandy's mouth formed a grim line as her blue eyes stared at her army boots before she looked up locking her narrowed eyes on Atticus Batman's glowing ones as she answered in a low tone so only he would hear, "Yes sir, I'll be your second-in-command on this mission because a rescue mission is always a good one and I'll follow your orders to a 't' as I was trained to as a soldier but - I'll also always tell you when I think you are wrong and the reasons why as a good officer should... and then still follow your orders to the letter. I may not like you but I've served faithfully under officers I didn't like before during the Pale Wars and I respect your position as the chosen Commander of the Protectors. However after this mission, I... just don't know yet. I agree with the Synth Empires goals and I don't think my conscience will let me undermine them in any way." Then Sandy's tan forehead wrinkled in concern as she asked, "Commander Batman, didn't you send Volodja on a mission? I figured you did when he didn't show up to our mission two hours ago and he wasn't on base. I hope he hasn't taken one of his walks alone as he was awfully depressed last time I saw him..." Then Atticus stood up and looking at the Synth Envoy holding out both armored hands palms up as he said, "Eseneziri Ruby. So where is she anyway?!" Ruby responded with, "I believe she is with the one named Volodja." Sandy blue eyes went wide as the blood flowed from her pretty tan face for she still felt she had somehow betrayed Volodja with the Synth Sister Brooke when the feline Synth girl stole a kiss from Sandy but Sandy hadn't immediately resisted and they had hugged each other in comfort for some time after so Sandy uttered a low startled "Oh!" As Atticus spoke with the Synth Envoy Ruby, Lady was the only one who visibly seemed to noticed Sandy's reaction to that revelation that Volodja and Brooke were off somewhere together as Lady turned to her with a cocked snow white eyebrow and sparkling pink eyes. It would be no surprise to Sandy as Lady was always a "people-watcher" and had become quite adept at reading body language as well as the subtle changes of speech. Sandy met Lady's glance with one of her own as they made an unspoken promise to speak of the matter later in more a more private setting. Both women's attention were drawn to Atticus again as he gestured at his huge view-screen as he continued with, "As you can see I am going through all the information that we have on Governor Skarr and Chancellor Cael. I am also willing to consider letting the four of you accompany us on our rescue mission, if you request it. Although before deciding on that, I would have to discuss it with my Second and my faithful adviser first. I am sure you can understand that...and why I will not give the exact details that I have about Cael until Brooke is present to hear it and see my evidence first hand." Ruby put her small hand's palms together peaked in front of her as she made a small bow to Atticus then said with a warm smile, "We will be happy to help you and your Protectors in any way possible. Father has given me permission and if our investigation shows that Governor Skarr is indeed following his own agenda rather than the Synth Empire's than we have been ordered to remove Skarr from his position of authority and to terminate him if he resists capture. I have been told that I should temporarily replace him if necessary." The attractive white haired Synth Sister Whitney scowled showing emotion for the first time since the Protectors first met her as she said venomously,"Oh Skarr is a traitor alright! He tricked me into rigging the defensive auto-guns at that bunker outside Capital City to kill Taffer and his party even though father had told us not to! I owe him for that and I hope it's my rapier that will pierce his black heart when we find him!" A frown crossed Ruby's pale cherubic face as turned to Whitney wagging her small forefinger as she ordered, "You will do no such thing until all the evidence is in! Father's orders!" Then to Atticus she continued with a smile once again, "As I said, we will help in any way possible and hope you will let us accompany you when the time comes to confront Governor Skarr. As to where he might be, we only met him a few times before being sent to that bunker to await Taffer and his group. However when we met him, it was always a place that was large enough to allow his huge spider-like lower robotic body to operate freely and usually dark but with trappings of authority. I know he likes regal surroundings but don't know why he likes the dark - maybe because he was entombed in the dark in that radioactive room under Synth City for so long until Father found him. Therefore my best guess is that he will be found now that Capital City has been conquered in the large audience hall in the Chancellor's Palace. If when we arrive we can see from the outside that the windows of that room are covered or boarded up, I think we will know for sure that he is there. Furthermore from the blueprints I have seen of the Palace, there is a large dungeon under the Palace to keep Chancellor Cael conveniently close if he is indeed alive." Despite having no conscious memory of her son, Erika visibly winced at the envoy's last comment.

Post by Volodja Uljanov on Jul 17, 2017 19:03:58 GMT
Volodja Uljanov begun to feel again. Talking with Brooke chased away his numbness and now he couldn't help but to feel. He felt structure of the rubble with his back. Especially sharp touch of small stones on his spine. He felt moisture and coolness of the ground. Volodja felt tickle inside his nose and released muffled sneeze while turning his face politely off from Brooke. Then he said with a sigh:
"Looks like that I missed the dramatic opportunity. No point to stay here and lay on my back any more. I guess that we should head back to the fortress. Your sisters are probably worried about you."
"I have a request," said Brooke and wrinkled her small nose. "Can we avoid the sewers this time and use more conventional way to enter, like going through the doorway?"
"I guess that we can do that," decided Volodja and begun to get himself up to his feet. Only for a brief moment because in next one he was back on the ground, this time on his stomach and let a Hellbug Skitterling jump over his body. Quite an undramatic and ordinary event in wasteland. Hellbugs discovered location of organic matter and came to feast on it. Normal behaviour for them.
Normal behaviour for Volodja was shouting: "Run!" to Brooke, adding: "You are our guest and we would be poor hosts if we let our guest get eaten by Hellbugs. I'll distract them and follow you!"
"Are you always so gallantly...silly?" asked Brooke, grabbing Volodja's hand and dragging him with her. "Even if I am a Synth and....unstandardised one. You may reply on our way because you are coming with me NOW!"
"Usu...ally yes," admitted Volodja during their hellish run where Hellbugs tried to snap their heels or ram them to the ground with quick jump attacks, making Brooke and Volodja to abrupt stop, or speed up or make a quick jump of their own or dodge or duck from time to time. "You are a...personality and you are our guest, so I feel responsible for you."
"You act against your own surviving instincts and are willing to risk your own life so others could escape," said Brooke. "This is weird."
"Matter...of...principles. Even...if...I am...useless, I still have...my principles. Especially when I...know that I attract trouble...everywhere I go...so I have to get others...off from the harm's way. And...This is not the weirdest thing when Protectors are involved," replied Volodja between gasps because they kept running from Hellbug swarm during their conversation. "I hope that the main gate is open, by the way. We are in such a hurry that we might smash ourselves against the gate."
"We'll see that when we are there. Until that just run!" shouted Brooke. They both did exactly that. So did Hellbugs, and the race continued....

In Fortress K'shaa, Security Chief Lebeau had finished his lunch but had no pressing work at the moment. So he decided to stop by the War Room before heading to his security office. That is why he was in the War Room talking to Kaj and Taffer when he heard some urgent chatter over his security channel. He listened closely and found that security picked up a decent size pack of hellbugs that were hunting near the sewer entrances. However it appears that a couple of wanderers got to close to the hellbug hunting party and were now being chased by them.
Lebeau said to Kaj and Taffer, "Sorry, gotta go. THere bein a 'ellbug 'untin party chasing some people jus' outside de base perimeter. Dey be 'eadin dis way as it be de closest safe 'aven, but I dink it be best to take a team out to rescue dem before anyding bad 'appens."
Kaj got up and gestured to the Command Chair as he said to Taffer, "As you are here Commander, I will go help Remy. Then once we are sure those people are safe, I will come back to my duties here. If that is fine with you."
Taffer gave Kaj approval, so Kaj said to Remy Lebeau, "Swamp rat, tell your men to prepare a jeep for us. I will pick up my gun on the way."
Remy notified his officers near the main gate to have two jeep running and waiting, one with a 4 man security team and one for him and Kaj. Then as he and Kaj quickly headed down the halls stopping at the armory on their way to get Kaj's gun. Kaj quickly entered and removed the gun in question from storage and made sure it had plenty of ammo. Then after strapping it on he walked back into the hall. Remy chuckled as they started moving again. As they got to the jeeps waiting at the main gate, Remy remarked, "You said you be getting a gun. You didn' say you be gettin de big'un."
As Kaj climbed into the back of their jeep and clamped his mini-gun into the empty gunner's tripod, he smiled as he said to Remy, "Swamp Rat, just as you do with shark-gators back in the Bayou, I feel that when you go hell bug hunting, you should either go big or you become their meal. So let us go hunt some bugs!"
As security opened the gate and Remy accelerated out of it, with their partner jeep right behind them, Remy let out a laugh and said, "I knew dere be a reason I like you my gian' purpl friend!"
It wasn't long, after leaving the compound, that Remy saw two individuals running their direction with a very fast and hungry Hellbug hunting party right behind them. As Remy gestured to Kaj to make sure he saw it as well, Remy's EGO recognized Volodja's EGO signal. So Remy sent Volodja an EGO message to inform him that the cavalry was on the way. "Voloja, looks like you be needin 'elp an' a ride! I be comin wit both!"
As soon as Remy swerved the jeep and brought it to a halt near Volodja and Brooke with the passenger's side facing the two so they could quickly climb in as soon as they reach the jeep, Kaj flipped off the safeties on his min-gun and started raining out cover fire to slow the hungry bugs and give Volodja and the girl time to get to the jeep, as the partner jeep arrived and also started providing cover fire, knowing that the added gunfire is usually more than enough to send the hellbugs running the other direction, put prepared just in case this turned out to be one of those exceptions.

"Our fatigue is often caused not by work, but by worry, frustration and resentment." - Dale Carnegie***** "Brooke is reporting that she and Mr. Uljanov are being chased by an awfully lot of hungry hellbugs just outside the walls of Fortress Kshaa," Reported Ruby the Synth Empire Envoy on the bridge of the Vigilant with concern in her voice. Sandy Bell immediately turned to Atticus Batman her demeanor calm but her blue eyes pleading as she asked, "Commander! Allow me to immediately lead a rescue squad to give them cover sir... please!" Ruby smiled warmly interjecting, "Not to worry! Your security chief just drove up to them in a jeep with a big purple man with an even bigger mini-gun in the back, so I think the rescue is a done deal!" Sandy frowned but quickly nodded her head. She frowned because she worried about Volodja. She worried about why her lover was out there in the dangerous wasteland outside the Fortress' walls in the first place without him telling her. She worried that she might have done something inadvertently to drive him there. She worried that the hellbugs might have hurt him or he might be injured from one of the many natural dangers that lurked outside their home's walls. She was worried that he was alone out there with the beautiful feline Synth Sister for many reasons. First was the fact that Brooke was very exotic and seductive without even trying and compared to her Sandy felt she was a plain GI Jane. Second was the fact that less than an hour ago Brooke and she found that they had a spiritual connection and conversed intimately revealing their innermost secrets but culminating when Brooke stole a kiss from Sandy. Sandy worried because she actually enjoyed the kiss and wondered what it meant as to her relationship with Volodja. Truth to tell, Sandy was a worrier on the best of days and today was not her best. Sandy startled when she felt her hand lightly touched looking down to see Lady Christianna's small chalk white hand lightly laying atop hers as it lay on a console with Lady saying with an enigmatic smile on her teenage face, "No worries. Kaj has it!" Sandy forced a smile as she nodded her head in agreement but thought to herself, "No worries - I wish that were true!" Suddenly all attention on the bridge went to Erika Widowmaker as she pounded her fist once loudly on the computer console in front of her as she exclaimed in frustration, "Gods! I just don't remember Cael at ALL! What kind of mother doesn't even remember her own son!!!!" ***** Elsewhere in the Synth Sisters' quarters in Fortress Kshaa and after they had ushered Doctor Wolfram Von Eschen out of the room, Lena Marr and Marcel Lestrange engaged in creative and vigorous lovemaking. Len was passive at first as a good Castithan servant girl would be with her "master," but soon was initiated more unusual and sometimes brutal sexual acts. When all was done and said, they both lay exhausted on top of one of the mattresses that had worked itself off the bed and on to the floor. One they caught their breath, Lena remarked, "That was great Master! But I still have this overwhelming compulsion to clean up now..." Still once the sex was over,Lena could not get over an even more overwhelming resentment of all those Protectors, Synth Sisters, and even her Master, Marcel Lestrange which all the voices in her head save Hope strived to foment.

Sandy startled when she felt her hand lightly touched looking down to see Lady Christianna's small chalk white hand lightly laying atop hers as it lay on a console with Lady saying with an enigmatic smile on her teenage face, "No worries. Kaj has it!"
Sandy forced a smile as she nodded her head in agreement but thought to herself, "No worries - I wish that were true!"
Suddenly all attention on the bridge went to Erika Widowmaker as she pounded her fist once loudly on the computer console in front of her as she exclaimed in frustration, "Gods! I just don't remember Cael at ALL! What kind of mother doesn't even remember her own son!!!!"
At Erika's outburst, I glanced at her glad that my helmet hid any worry for her that may be on my face, only showing the blue glue of my intense eyes which always glow with at least some anger, for I would not be a vengeful demon of death if anger didn't always course through me in some form. However before the glow could start to get more intense with my anger at what Erika was going through, I managed to reign it back in before anybody could notice it
Then I said to one of the bridge crew, "Bring the main gate's security cams up on the main view screen." As we looked at the view screen, I turned to Sandy and said, "Sandy it sounds like Lebeau and Kaj have it handled and will get them back to the compound. I am sure gate security can handle their jobs fine as well, however I understand the concern. Besides some tactical command expertise at the gate during these situations is a good idea, to ensure that everybody gets back inside safely. So go ahead and take command of the guards at the gate and assign more if you feel it is needed."
Then I walked over and put my arm reasuringly on Erika's shoulder, as I quietly said to her, "Erika enough nonsense! There is NO reason to doubt yourself over this, Sister Dear....or for you to bust the consoles BEFORE I have a chance to. If you bust them before I have a chance to, then what will I be able to break, when I get angry on the Bridge? Besides, I am sure whatever amnesia your traumas caused is just temporary. Besides you are a great mother and your children agree. If you don't beleive me, then just go ask Kara. I know she is worried about you and she does not know yet that Cael may still be alive after all. If you need to be alone, then go ahead and go to your quarters onboard. However if you want to talk to me in private, then we can use the officer's conference room or I can accompany you to your quarters if you prefer."

As the gathered Protectors looked at the view screen on the Vigilant's bridge, Atticus Batman turned to Sandy Bell and said, "Sandy it sounds like Lebeau and Kaj have it handled and will get them back to the compound. I am sure gate security can handle their jobs fine as well, however I understand the concern. Besides some tactical command expertise at the gate during these situations is a good idea, to ensure that everybody gets back inside safely. So go ahead and take command of the guards at the gate and assign more if you feel it is needed." Sandy grinned despite her feelings about Commander Batman replying, "Thank you sir!" before activating her EGO's blur power. Sandy raced off the bridge not hearing the conversation between Erika Widowmaker and her brother Atticus or seeing Erika nod her refusal of his offer to discuss the matter of her memory loss in private. In fact, Sandy only slowed down to grab a security guard's Assault rifle at the Vigilant's cargo door with a hurried "Thank you," before going on to the front gate of Fortress Kshaa. Once there, she took command of the gate guards ordering them to open the gates and to cover the rescue jeep as it returned. "I'd say don't shoot until the white of their eyes, but I'm not sure they have any so just shoot the little buggers as soon as you have a shot just be careful not to fire too close to our guys," Ordered Sandy calmly with a grim look in her blue eyes, but feeling comfortable in a roles that she was used to, that of soldier and tactical leader. Soon Sandy and the gate guards saw the jeep and shot the few remaining hellbugs that Kaj Oenfer and his minigun had not killed and were still pursuing the vehicle. As the few surviving bugs disappeared and the jeep was safely within the perimeter of the protective fence around Fortress Kshaa, Sandy ordered the gate secured and they hopped into the seat next to her lover Volodja Uljanov. Sandy grinned at the jeep's driver Security Chief LeBeau remarking, "Great driving Chief! Now if you could just take us to the cargo door of the Vigilant please!" Then turned with a smile and congratulated saying, "And nice shooting too Tex!" As the big bioman smiled back at her acknowledging the praise but not sure why she refereed to Texas since he was certain his friend knew he didn't hail from there, Sandy turned and embraced Volodja kissing him long and hard before sincerely saying, "I was really worried about you - but I'm so very glad you're back safe with us!" Then whispered in his ear but not so the others could hear for fear of embarrassing him, "I really do love you." By the time they arrived at the Vigilant's cargo hatch and exited the vehicle, Sandy had decided on a course of action as to her love life and to throw decorum out the window. She took a smoke grenade off her belt, pulling the ring and throwing it far away from the group to where no one might be bothered by it then fell to one knee presenting the grenade's ring to Volodja with one tan calloused hand while holding one of his in the other as she asked, "Volodja Uljanov, will you marry me? The ship's captain can marry us on the way to Capital City - if you'll have me!"

Volodja Uljanov's eyes widened in surprise. Then a tiny twinkle appeared into them when he helped Sandy rose back to her feet. He just looked her in silence until he sighed happily and said:
"Finally we reached to this point! I lacked guts to propose you, so I am grateful that you had courage for both of us. I will accept your proposal. With pride and pleasure and plenty other positive feelings. I do believe that we have some time before another attempt of saving the world to squeeze in a modest wartime wedding ceremony into our tight schedule. Damn...I don't know what else to say, except that I love you so much!"
He looked around before closing Sandy into his embrace. After a long kiss, and a moment which Volodja needed to regain his breathe again, he said: "We begin a new chapter of our story. It might have it's highs and lows, storms and sunshine but we are together. Together with you, Sandy. On that roller coaster ride, called marital life. That's what counts." Then he took Sandy's face between his palms and kissed her again. Long long long time.
The audience spread themselves into different corners and room and galleys and hall of the Fortress K'Shaa and on their way they didn't forgot to spread the message as well. The message was simple: "Somebody's getting married!"

Post by Lena Marr on Jul 20, 2017 13:45:04 GMT
In the Synth Sisters' quarters in Fortress Kshaa, Lena Marr lay naked next to her master Marcel Lestrange watching him sleep. As she did she wondered about who she really was: a simple Castithan serving girl who served her master faithfully no matter what his appetites or - something else - something... dangerous! When she undressed before their sexual romp, Lena had been surprised to find a switchblade knife in her bra. It took her only a few seconds to figure out how to open it but when she did she marveled at the blade's shininess and sharpness. She had carefully closed it and put it on the nightstand next to the bed then, but now she retrieved it from there with equal care. Lena opened the switch blade and then turned over to face Marcel, holding the blade near his face. All the voices in her head save Hope, her EGO psyche, screamed at Lena to cut his throat and watch the red blood spurt out. She wondered how she knew where to stab to make it spurt instead of just flow but knew for certain she did. She also wondered how a Castithan working caste girl ended up serving a human as her culture held humans to be barely above the animals and her Castithan culture would frown on such an indenture. Furthermore she couldn't for the life of her remember how she had ended up with Marcel as her master. Was she collateral for a loan for Marcel appeared to be wealthy? Was she payment for a lost wager or maybe a debt of honor by some Castithan noble who owed Marcel his life? To her Marcel looked like an adventurer and his accent revealed that he was from far away so anything was possible. Lena shook such thoughts from her white tousled head becoming focused on the task at hand. She raised the knife to Marcel's face putting the blade under his nose checking his breathing. Seeing the heat vapor on the knife appear and disappear with slow regularity she knew he was asleep. Again how and why a mere serving girl would know that she hadn't a clue. After making sure he was asleep and ignoring the voices in her head imploring his murder, she closed the switchblade, rolled carefully out of bed, and quietly dressed in her long white flowing robes securing the blade in her bra. As Lena dressed she pondered her situation and deduced who was the architect of her circumstances from snippets of conversation she had overheard between Marcel and the old doctor, Wolfram Von Eschen, thinking excitedly, "The Synths did this to me for some reason! I don't know why!?!?! I need to find that Synth witch Ruby and make her tell me! She's the head of them here and she should be able to reverse whatever has been done to me!" Once dressed, Lena sneaked out of the room making a beeline for where the Vigilant was parked on the tarmac outside the fortress. Always the listener, Lena had overheard the conversation between the Synth Sisters and the Constantine twins so was able to figure out what the destination of the group was once they let the room. Once outside, Hope informed Lena of her EGO's cloaking power and helped her activate it. Lena then took advantage of the commotion outside the Vigilant's cargo bay door to enter the Vigilant unseen. Hope led her to the Vigilant's bridge knowing the way somehow although neither Lena nor Hope remembered ever being on the strato-carrier before. Lena arrived on the bridge still cloaked and although she was nervous because there were so many people there, she still stealthily made her way behind the short raven haired Synth envoy putting an arm around Ruby's throat and the switchblade knife which appeared quickly in her hand as if by magic to Ruby's cute cherubic face exclaiming frantically with a breaking voice, "Good sirs and ladies, I don't want to hurt anybody - although the voices in my head sure do! I just want the Synth witch to reverse whatever her people did to me - and make the voices stop! I'll cut her if she doesn't - cut her deep! ... Please ... make the voices stop!!!!" "Please Ms. Marr, I do not want to hurt you," Pleaded Ruby calmly, "Although I will have to do so if you continue your current course of action. Let me assure you that what Father did to you will wear off in time." Ruby's eyes glazed over for a moment as she tilted her head as if hearing an unseen voice, which in fact she was; whereupon her eyes returned to their normal silvery blue as she reported, "Father's asserts that he added no voices to your reeducation and that the voices were there before you were reeducated. He says that he silenced them to help with your rehabilitation." "Whaaat?!?!?!" Yelled Lena in anger pricking Ruby's cheek with her knife drawing a single drop of white fluid that trailed down Ruby's round face to her chin. "Who would take somebody who already has mental problems because they are hearing voices and fuck with their brain even more!!!! What kind of inhuman monsters are you!?!?" Then Lena screamed like a Banshee raising her knife to plunge it into Ruby's right eye!

I watched Lena closely as I slowly walked around her from a distance hoping Ruby's conversation would distract her enough to keep her attention away from me and give me enough time to get to her. However just as I was closing in on her from behind, she proved that she really hated what she had been told...violently as usual for her.
"Whaaat?!?!?!" Yelled Lena in anger pricking Ruby's cheek with her knife drawing a single drop of white fluid that trailed down Ruby's round face to her chin. "Who would take somebody who already has mental problems because they are hearing voices and fuck with their brain even more!!!! What kind of inhuman monsters are you!?!?"
Then Lena screamed like a Banshee raising her knife to plunge it into Ruby's right eye!
Right as Lena started the action, I quickly sprung forward and grabbed her hand yanking it back just before it could reach Ruby's eye. Fortunately since I was so quick, Ruby still had her eye, but was staring in shock. However as I pulled Lena towards me by her knife-weilding hand and took her knife with my other hand, I could hear the feint unholstering and cocking of several service pistols. I knew that it must have been Tasha Yar and the security officers on Bridge duty; as it is what they had been trained to do when dealing with an armed-assailant by whatever military, police or paramilitary organization they had each once been a part of.
As I pulled Lena into my chest, knowing that any more potential outbursts would now be directed at myself and no other for the time being if Lena's true personality were indeed resurfacing as she always focused on the one who was either in charge or made themselves the biggest threat to her, and of course I was both at the moment. However I said calmly but gruffly to the room, "Lower the weapons. It is under control....Yvette, that goes for you and Whitney as well."
Then I glanced back at Ruby and her sisters and said sternly, "And THIS is just ONE of the reasons why people should NEVER mess with somebody's daking mind! Hopefully your father really does realize that now! I know I am daking tired of people trying to fuck with mine and do NOT like that Erika's and Lena's were fucked with!"
I continued more calmly with, "It had to be said. Anyway Ruby, perhaps now is a good time for Atika and Attila to show you and your sisters around the Vigilant and get you some quarters onboard as well. So you can take some time to calm down after such a stressful moment. I will notify Sandy and have her show Brooke onboard so they can meet you in the Mess or something."
Then I said to Lena who I still had securely in my arms, "Lena, I am afraid they are right about the voices. However you are not alone when it comes to sharing your head with others. Believe me it takes a lot of getting used to. Now I am going to release you but I think it's best if I hold onto the knife for now. Just calm down, and I hope you don't get more upset, but I think I better contact Marcel and let him know where you are. If you agree to be good, I will release you. Then you can sit down and Lady and I will keep you company."
After that, I said to Erika, "And Sister Dear...just relax. It sounds like the memories of Cael should come back to you on their own, but I still think you should go talk to Kara since you won't talk to me."
As Erika responded, I led a somewhat reluctant and still very confused Lena to an empty chair and gestured toward it. After Lena finally sat down, with me sitting near her just incase I needed to quickly react again, I made several EGO calls.
I first sent Sandy an EGO message asking that when she brings Brooke onboard to contact Attika to find out where onboard to meet her and Brook's sisters.
Second, I contacted Lestrange via EGO saying, "Marcel there has been an incident involving Lena. You may want to come to the Vigilant right away. She will be waiting on the Vigilant's Bridge. I suggest you meet us there here soon as you can as Lena seems VERY confused about everything at the moment." Then I proceeded to quickly fill him in on the situation in my usual straight-forward manner as I kept my eye on Lena.
Third, I mentally said to Lady via our private EGO channel, so only she could hear, "Snow Angel, I contacted Marcel and am sure he is on his way, but do you think I should notify the Old Goat (Von Eschen ) as well? I may dislike psycho-babblers as a rule, but he did prove that some of his methods actually work....otherwise I may still have been locked away in my self-imposed house-arrest when you returned."

As Atticus restrained Lena in his strong arms, he said to Erika Widowmaker, "And Sister Dear...just relax. It sounds like the memories of Cael should come back to you on their own, but I still think you should go talk to Kara since you won't talk to me." "I'll talk to her by hailer in my quarters after we take off!" Growled Erika to her brother, "I need to met this Cael in person as soon as possible!" As Erika responded, Atticus led a somewhat reluctant and still very confused Lena to an empty chair and gestured toward it. After Lena finally sat down, with him sitting near her just in case he needed to quickly react again, he then made several EGO calls. Lena Marr slumped from the chair to the floor at Atticus Batman's feet, defeating in both task and spirit, asking forlornly, "I'll be a good girl. Just give me back my knife so I can kill myself since you won't do it," Adding with a bitter laugh, "Then you'll know for sure I'll get the point. Get it, point of the lecture, point of the knife, nobody gets my jokes..." Lady Christianna moved to Lena and sat down on the floor next to her, curling her skinny legs under her, putting her slim chalk white arms gently around Lena hugging her and locking her pink eyes onto Lena's sky blue ones as she replied firmly with an enigmatic smile, "No - to both!" Ruby rubbed the drop of Synth blood from her round cheek with a lace handkerchief saying frankly, "Sun Tzu said, 'The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.' Thank You Commander Batman for doing that for me. Although I could have handled it myself, Ms. Marr would have most likely ended up dead so I thank you again for this much better outcome. Glad that is over. And Father agreed that the reeducation program was a failure that probably shouldn't have been tried without solid pre-testing." Lady's smile turned to a frown as she glared at Ruby thinking, "Still messing with people's minds if you're pretesting using people as guinea pigs. I don't see how you could test a reeducation program for people any other way. I wonder if you realize that - or even care! Maybe doing this to Erika and Lena was the pretest!" Just then the feline Synth Sister Brooke entered the bridge hurrying over to Ruby and embracing her, saying with concern, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry I wasn't with you - I should never have left you alone!" Ruby smiled warmly replying, "Nonsense Brooke, Father wants us to have individual adventures so we can grow independently as well as a team," Then Ruby got a mischievous look on her cherubic face turning to Yvette with a big grin and a comment that made her sister blush, "Isn't that right Yvette? I do believe you had an interesting encounter on your own too!" Sandy Bell and Volodja Uljanov followed in Brooke's wake onto the bridge hand-in-hand, whereupon her taking in the scene with a single glance whispered in Volodja's ear, "Maybe we should hold off on our announcement until we take-off for our mission. Looks like they have more than enough drama going on already!"
